I agree, I sometimes just stay away from that morning show, it can get really toxic like this morning it went off the rails again. We should all be together as family of friends. This is one of the reasons I won’t make any videos. I have lots great R&B soul and funk records to show but I’m to nervous on camera. Let’s keep together people..✌️🎼🎸

i follow various figures in "community" you speak of and haven't watched situation of which you speak but i'll chime in to say that you are a voice of reason. i tried to reach an old friend in tampa by phone today but they weren't home. maybe that's why i thought of you and came across your briefest yet still worthy video.

I’ve been watching the VC from afar for a while, not the livestreams so much but the various creator videos and individual channels, and would have never guessed needing such a thick skin to hang. I get that people are so passionate about music but yeah, getting a little closer to the flame, seems a little like Lord of the Flies.

Good to hear it’s just sometimes! I guess just like in the media, “If it bleeds, it leads” but I do hope to see more of and hear louder voices of positivity and reconciliation. Music is a chance to bring people together and not push them apart :-)

I'd probably just echo what Vinyl Richie said. A while ago I started seeing these clips someone had (helpfully?) made showing a few of the more heated exchanges during some livestreams. Prior to that I was ignorant about this. The ones I watch are usually pretty low key. At the end of the day, we're just talking about records. Take it easy, guys.

I respectfully disagree, Richie. The harsh, ironic talk is witty and done for fun. That's fine. It is the ugliness, like what occurred this morning, which has no place amongst grown ass people.

@@djvinylvertigo The livestreams and the vc are two different things. I’m not saying one is good and the other is bad. I am saying that the vast amount of drama revolves around the livestreams. I don’t know what got ugly today but I’m sure it has happened before.

It got racist at one point. There was gaslighting. There were lies told. A shit show. I can handle a lot, but it was totally inappropriate. I won't be frightened away. I will continue to call it out. And the livestreams are a part of the VC experience.

I'm ashamed to say it, but there are trolls EVERYWHERE in media. Unhappy souls that want to bring down everyone to their level, and they don't care HOW good a person is, or how noble their intentions are, which is a loss for themselves. There are trolls on Facebook also, who just don't see the destructive nature of what they do. All I know is that I have to take my actions seriously enough to bring the world UP with me, because there are too many that need to be lifted up out of their state of blindness that they themselves are in. We should be celebrating each other, not tearing each other down. That's how I feel.

Live streams have the potential to enhance the love of physical music appreciation experience. I have seen it happen. The petty stuff gets in the way.

It is actually pretty fun most times. It is definitely not for everyone. Recently, there have been some toxic behavior expressed, but it has gotten better controlled now. Good to hear from you, Wes!
