I picked it up after work yesterday and am finally about to play it. I purchased it for our PS5 and with a 4 day weekend ahead of me this is going to be great! Oh, I bought the physical copy (like I do for all of my games) and I'm pretty sure the entire game is on disc. That means this one will not be lost when Sony invariably shuts the servers down.

I do feel the same way about this game but the ending just flopped for me. It felt too underwhelming, predictable and cliche, something I don't expect from a game like this, it didn't feel like a GOW story to me. Maybe I excepted too much from the game.

God of War was one of my favorite games on the ps2 and ps3. This looks too different from those games.

I wonder how hard it will be to get the platinum trophy?? Could someone tell me how many playthroughs it took them in the 2018 game to 100% it? Will I have to beat it on Give me God of War? I am going for the 100% this time around!

I’m a day 1 GOW fan. Ragnarok is an awesome game. But, why is nobody talking about how the Atreus gameplay is absolute TRASH??

[SPOILERS AHEAD] Am I the only one who thought Ragarok, while still a good game, falters heavily? The most anticipated boss fights were underwhelming compared to Baldur. While performances were damn good, the use of modern dialogue was jarring and felt out of place. The Fenrir plot went nowhere. You'd think he'd be instrumental in defeating Odin. The Jormingandur plot went nowhere. You'd think he'd be instrumental in defeating Thor. The Sutr plot went nowhere. His selflessness and ultimate transformation was pursued so that they might break through the walls of Asgard. They did that without him. The destruction of asgard meant nothing, as the main antagonists were dead already and the other Aesir had joined the good guys. The mask plot went nowhere. It was merely a mccguffin with no pay off. Broks death, while sad, changed nothing. It's not like they wouldnt have gone to war, were he still alive. Nor was it as though Sindri wouldnt have helped with the destruction of the siege weapon. I still give the game a solid 8. However, my GOTY choice goes to Elden Ring.

So, what did GOW do that was innovative?

After finishing both games and platinumed on give me god of war the 2018 game (I am on my way for Ragnarok too) I have to say these GOW 2018: 1) Better pacing in story 2) Better level design 3) Better puzzles 4) Better Armor sets and character builds 5) Better UI 6) Valkyries more fun than Berserkers Ragnarok: 1) Better combat options (shields/weapons/finishers) 2) Better platforming using your weapons 3) Better bosses (Thor, Heimdall, Odin vs Baldur) 4) Better side quests God of War 2018: 9.5/10 Ragnarok: 9/10

Can't put my finger on why, but can never get through the 2018 game. There is something missing. I'll probably buy this when it's on a deep sale in a few years. Very uninspiring.
