Someday... when we get PENTATONIX: The Christmas Musical... it's going to be like this. Festive AF but slightly dark and twisty like it's Nightmare Before Christmas... songs like this... Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy... Making Christmas and My Favorite Things. And I'm gonna love it...

I actually like when reactors pause along the way and give their thoughts with PTX. There is so much going on in their videos, both vocally and visually (most of the time) that there is a tendency to forget all the points a person wants to make by the time they are done. So no worries on the pauses!

Why do you always wonder who arranges Pentatonix's songs? They arrange all their songs themselves with Ben Bram.

That was typically the case pre-2017, but PTX now collaborates with numerous people in writing and arranging. Some say it's because Avi was so involved in both (often with Kevin and/or Ben),and without his input, they've had to reach out.

This is the very best version of this carol there has ever been. So innovative, so fresh. Perfectly choreographed and arranged, and visually and vocally superlative.

Yes. It is absolutely worth it to watch it live!!! They performed it on Jimmy Kimmel and it was phenomenal. I highly suggest you check it out (and maybe shoot me a message to let me know if you do like it :))

This is of the style of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (which won a Grammy and you should listen/watch if you haven't already), but faster and with words. I love Avi in this. :) This is a great one. I'm guessing it was Ben Bram that arranged it, but not positive. I don't know of a Live version of this. There is a Live version for Hallelujah that is Awesome. Also, Popspring 2016 is Live and has 3 originals and one Evolution song (not holiday music) if you haven't seen that. Both worth seeing and hearing. Thanks for reacting.

Right! When you listen specifically to Avi's part, you can hear the intricacies of what he's doing, weaving in and out of the melody the trio is doing. Helps to have had extensive choir and operatic training, to be sure.

Just this morning I saw a video of Pentatonix reacting to there old Christmas songs and this was their favorite. My mistake it was actually "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies", done in the same style, that was their favorite. They said they did the arrangements themselves, so they probably did this one also. Just discovered a Pentatonix video on another artists channel. Check out "Radioactive" cover by Lindsey Sterling and Pentatonix. Also watch "Skyrim" by Lindsey Sterling and Peter Hollens.

Pentatonix also has Radioactive featuring Lindsey Stirling on THEIR official Channel. LOL! There's a second one they did with Lindsey Stirling called "Papatoui" that is all French lyrics! I really enjoy it! They've put out so much material in 9 years! I thought I'd seen everything they had done and I'm still finding videos I missed from way back in the day!

“You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din!” to have picked up on them popping in when singing & out when not. The same is done in “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” which is *just maybe* more chaotic! Unfortunately, they don’t do this in the live versions. ; ) (Maybe they could do something similar using the flashlights from “Bohemian Rhapsody?!”)

This is called taking a boring old Christmas carol that's been sung the same way by everybody for 200 years or more and completely turning it upside down...and making a MASTERPIECE out of it!! And again, producer Ben Bram and the group members do ALL of the arranging!

DO pause and tell us your thoughts ! YES, it's brilliant ! Thank you. This is a superb version of this song. We used to sing it in choir ! LOVE IT ! All of the sounds, harmonies and surprises, awesome ! You would love SUGAR PLUM FAIRY from the Nutcracker ballet, won their 2nd Grammy !!! Stunning.

Yes watch it live! They do an amazing job on this live both on TV appearances and for VIP performances in a room with no microphones . and the sound Crews get it correctly! If I was you I'd search for their performance of this on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Honestly don’t think I’ve heard this version from them before since it’s like an older original Christmas song but it was so awesome! This reminds me of their version of the 12 days of Christmas. Highly recommend that one as well! Another one of my favorite Christmas songs from them is Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

I don't know if you noticed while watching this, but both Hobby and Kevin on each end AKA meat and potatoes, towards the end they were doing an 808 sound on their chest as they were singing

All their arrangements are a combination of the group and Ben Bram. Any one can suggest material and the stuff they agree on will be sorted between the group, what parts fit who, style, genre, key changes and such. Bram will do the final polish and transcription.

Yes do a live one it is just as good or better depending on your taste. Ben Bram dose most if not all the arrangements.

At least one member of the band is also involved in arrangements. Frequently all of them are involved, plus Ben Bram. Ben is the de facto coordinator and orchestrator.

Nah, him pausing is because a few of the videos he uploaded reacting to PTX (or I think specifically it was 12 Days of Christmas) were constantly taken down until he changed it up. Nothing to do with any new laws.
