We took a road-trip to Savoca, Sicily to visit The Godfather locations on the 50th anniversary of this legendary movie. We visited Bar Vitelli and Church of San Nicolo.

Bar Vitelli is the place where Micheal met apollonia's father but his first impression was not good , so he talked respectfully this time and asked her father that he want to marry apollonia ❤ One day I'll be here no matter what ❤

I’m literally…almost crying. I dream visiting this place and I haven’t gotten a chance yet. Hopefully in a near future I will be visiting this place and some other places in Sicily. I’m fascinated and I love Italian culture and people.

@@5starfamilyadventures hopefully soon. I love The Godfather so much that I started reading any book that I could find about the topic, watched every documentary possible and now I know more about Sicilian history and culture than my own country’s 😂. Thank you for the great video.

All 3 Godfather movies are great. I visited Taormina when I was in the U.S.Navy in 1972 on my very first Mediterranaen cruise an also on my second Medterranean cruise in 1973. I didn't that Savoca was up on the mountain from Taormina. The scenery is great there.

Could somebody tell me the exact place where Michael met Apolonia for the first time? I think it's a field near bar Vitelli. Does it still exist or already replaced by a building or a street...?

I don’t know that exact place but the hill where he was walking with the guys near bar Vitelli is still there. I’m sure you can ask at the bar if you’re going there 😊

Yeah..... calculated goldigger who married a criminal for money. And Michael chasing her in the middle of the mafia war, conned her into marrying him at the hight of the danger so he can satisfy his thunderbolt and killed her with the wedding. And than moved on as if she never existed .... Michael taking Kay into the same room where he "held" Apollonia as Coppola said.. Michael:" I spent many nights in this room thinking of you " Kay:" Than you got married" Michael:" I still thought about you "... Yes.... HELD.... literally. That is exactly how it was described in a book... goldigger he bought for a necklace and held like sexual slave. More explicitly described in a book.

@dc6461 Appolonia was not a sexual slave. He married her with her parents permission. The story was used to illustrate how in a mob war, the mafia could get to you and sometimes innocent family members pay the price. Tragic indeed, but you're making it something it's not.

@@variousJnames Apollonia was reduced to a sexual slavery in a book. Coppola captured that relatively well. Her parents were scumbags seeking to financially exploit Michael..... her father allowed Michael to get into his house bc he assumed Michael was a rich man....after Michael spoke In an English language. When Michael came into her house with presents her father thought to himself " This is a stroke of good luck " Apollonia was no better. She married a criminal who she found ugly, older and coming from the mafia family for money... Michael married her bc he had to.....there is no sex before marriage in Sicily so to satisfy his desire aka thunderbolt aka eraction he had to marry her.
