Before WW2 if a country, kingdom, empire wasn't growing it was considered stagnate at best and weak at worst. For good reason too. The upper power structure could become complacent and allow upstarts and power hungry men to attempt to seize power from the comfortable (weak) ruling monarch. Or those in power would become complacent and allow an enemy nation to attack. So 1000 years of peace without growth and expansion would be considered failure in more ways than one by ancient thinking. Ancient nations were a bit like a shark. If it isn't swimming and consuming its sinking and dying. Then the little creatures come an nip away at it.

Lmao! Horus was whooping Sets ass when they transformed. Horus is the stronger of the two in that form which is why Set needed his army to stop him shining the bloody mirrors in his face like lasers so he couldn't see. Set was a bit more skilled with weapons Horus with hand to hand fighting and when transformed Horus has the overwhelming advantage in skill and strength which is why Set cheated.

@@makteko To be fair the alternative was Horus and Set fighting by transforming into hippos and then Horus finally beating Set by uh... Well there's no easy way to say it, Horus feeds Set his sperm, and that's how Horus defeated Set and became king of Egypt according to Egyptian lore. I also got curious if I left anything out so I went back and reread some about the fights... yeah turns out that the first fight between Set and Horus ending just like the movie, except the story goes that Set actually came inside Horus. Yes that's actually how the story goes. Bro came in Horus and that's how Set took down Horus in their first fight. Egyptian lore for their gods is crazy.

Movies like these are really unique and memorable, mythlogical gods and humans. Films like GOT with dragons, conquests, wars, and zombies. Ready Player one with virtual reality, all those pop culture references, nostalgic trip, and a heaven for gamers. Star wars, interplanetery conquest, armies, spaceships...All of which makes them even more awesome.

Also Set was a joke in ancient Egypt! It was supposed to be slightly goofy hybrid of Anubis, and Thoth, of which there was no existence. It was to clarify that the Hykos were unnecessary, disgusting, and dishonorable having both no honor or wisdom and thus no reason to be at the Council of the Gods. Probably why these Hykos people were so deceitful and destructive. It's actually Apep who is far worse than Set. The old ways are the bite and venom of a viper or asp is a divination of the new ruler, not the bite/venom of the king cobra. Akhenaten IV (Moses) completed these rituals, and sought to reverse the devastation, and desecration that defiled the Old Kingdom. Upon conflict at the Noble Hall he was banished in order to prevent the factions within Egypt to become disunity.
