WOW... what I like about him... His playing is soulful. There are plenty of guitarists out there that can play like greased lightning... but it's not just the speed, it's the tasteful notes that count and pouring yourself into it. Dude has the magic.

I listen Jimi ,Gilmour and all great ones but this guy is not so famous but mann he have so great feeling he combines melody blues and shred i just listen him for 2 hours tracks from europe and solo albums I'm so blown away he is so unbelievable good my guitar hero number one because of him i started getting into guitar world and music

A stunning piece of music from a truly great guitar player. The music has a dark but gigantic scope and grandeur about it, like a bellowing cry from the unknown realm of the noumenon. The fact that it stands as a great piece of music independently of the soloing shows it's greatness. God bless John Norum. You are special. The god's must love you like we do on earth.

I think that both John and Paul clearly have feeling. I don't see how one has and one doesn't, I'd say that they both have different styles and different ways of expressing their feelings.

In the music videos of carrie, rock the night and open your heart, kee marcello appeared as their lead, where actually norum played those solos... He left Europe, when the band was at it's peak... That's why, he got underrated... I love final countdown music video, norum appeared there as a true rockstar... And that's their only music video back then, in which norum appeared...

To all who think the gut has problem with speedpicking, that's totally untrue. He has always armpicked, even during the 80s, that's what's called style. Norum is well known and respected for that and for his vibrato. Check out his huge and diverse solo work.

Mr. Norum is not as clean or "technical" as he used to be in the 80s, but he became quite more soulful and bluesy after Europe reunion. I like it :) (well, when it comes to play a Kee Marcello's solo the results may vary...)
