My heart bleeds for Sully...his pain is so palpable in this song. I can see the pain in his face and hear his anguish in his vocals. Equally, Shannon, Tony and Robbie pour their hearts into this making it a true masterpiece. I've been in this exact same situation myself coming home from a 14 month deployment to find my then wife seven months pregnant. The lyrics took me back to that exact moment. My second marriage ended when I came back from 10 days in the field to find my second wife with my best friend. Sully, THANK YOU for gutting out your pain and putting it into song. This is truly a tragic work of art and I know for a fact it will speak to many more who have gone through, or are going through, this same betrayal. Blessings to you and your brothers who have not only stood by you, but help hold you up.

Dear Metalhead, I have learn't never try to Understand another's madness- stick to sanity, logic, kindness, dignity, ethics, faith, Human Decency. Believe me, I got Married and was pronounced terminally ill, worked x2 jobs to put my husband through college to professional level. I discovered, when he had stolen all the bond payments on the home i had held an extra job down on to furnish, he had a child with my best friend, another affair with his secretary, and his own best friend's wife. He supposedly came from a good family, but turned out to be a conman, philanderer and a thief. I got through it, got healthy, am no longer terminal, and help others. i still work hard, have learnt wisdom and judgement along the way. I have faith in you, you will be fine. Take Care.

If you haven't seen the "Making of" segment for this vid, look it up. Sully had an AMAZING level of support from his bandmates through an insanely difficult time. These guys are exceptionally close, and it shows. Unlike far too many other bickering bands. I can't even imagine trying to perform this song, and having it open up a painful wound each time...well done, GS.

У меня два сына и тоже были в подобных ситуациях, но я была рядом с ними и повторяла: " Что мама у вас одна и если что с ними случится, она этого не переживет". this song, and the story behind it makes my heart hurt, but at the same time, it is such a soul wrenching, beautiful song, Sully puts his heart on his sleeve, you can see the emotion in him while he is singing it. I cannot imagine how much he is hurting, yet he gives us such beauty from that pain. I absolutely love this band and have for a very long time, they just keep getting better, and I wish they would keep making music, they have never gotten it wrong, and they never will.

After first hearing the story of this song my heart broke for Sully. Now I am here in a very similar situation and I have never connected to a song quite like this. It's really amazing that this is his true story. The grief that occurs when a loved one is embraced by another person is hell itself... It becomes a kind of trauma that cannot be erased throughout one's life. It is miserable, terrible, fatal pain.

The ups and downs in life is easier when you can relate to something, my something is music, mostly hard rock n metal. Amazing song. I saw them in Quebec in 2019 when they toured with Volveat. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Sully was born to be an artist on stage. The stage presence, the light show and the artwork was amazingly put together. I would go see them live again any day.
