I was floored at just how good a movie it was/is! From the iconic roar and background sounds to the movie's pacing, acting, and storyline, i really would recommend seeing this on the bigscreen twice. !st time for the overall experience and for a second time, to enjoy the parts of it that moved you and the parts you "may" have missed. This is, IMO, the best of the many Godzilla movies and the one YOU SIMPLY MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN- i can't emphasize that enough. My son and i also enjoyed the "Minus Color" version as well.

I thought Godzilla Minus One is hands down the best Godzilla movie ever made. I made a point to see it in the black and white version and it gives the movie a classic Godzilla feel. The characters in this film are so authentic and bring you into post-war Japan right along side them, not something you ever get in a Godzilla film, but I think that's what sets this film apart from the rest.

Godzilla Minus One - $25 milion budget The Marvels $250 million budget Disney has completely lost it's magic and its almost like they're trying to fail. We could have 10 Godzilla level movies for the price of one crap MCU mess. Hollywood is doomed if it doesn't recognize why the fans are rejecting (with a few exceptions) their lazy, uninspired tent pole projects.

And $250mil was just the production budget. Add in the marketing and it probably comes in around $350mil. This is what happens when you have bad writing and direction requiring reshoots and narrative changes. How much did Brie Larson get paid? Whatever it was, she was way overpaid.

Have been a Godzilla fan my whole life and as a kid ,loved the destruction and undying spirit of the king, but Minus one I would say the best Godzilla ever, I have always wondered about the kamikaze pilots ,( I know at the time they were our enemy,not now at all of course)why couldn’t they put up a good fight,and loose the war and go home to their families? If they did return their own families they would not respect them or want to see them? So sad and heartfelt in this movie,so very well done!

? I prefer a Japanese film to be in Jaoanese, especially voice acting in anime and games, they are better actors. Watch Gōjira 1954 then compare it to Godzilla King Of The Monsters 1956 aka American Gōjira. The original is unquestionably the better film with a more consistent tone. IF they offered this in English dub I'd reject it and see the Japanese dub.

It has been said that at the time this takes place, Japan is at zero after the war - trying to rebuild and just get by. When Godzilla shows up the destruction takes Japan down to -1. That’s what I’ve read…

Because when Gman is not on screen in Los Angeles, I despise and beyond annoyed by human characters, not this one. This one I like the characters, subtitles be damned.
