I'll be honest, I'm one of those people that had the thought that it's just in black and white. It won't make much of a difference to the movie. I still saw it anyway because this movie was damn good and I'll take any excuse to see it. But why did I tear up more in this version than the original. Godzilla is going to have the best movie of the year two years straight because of this release

I saw this movie in 4DX and this was the best movie experience I've ever had. honestly didn't think seeing this movie in black and white would be that much of a tear jerker but it got me even more

SEEN THE MINUS COLOR VERSION IN 4DX YESTERDAY. THIS WAS MY 3RD VIEWING OF THE FILM IN GENERAL. STILL HAD THE SAME EXCITEMENT IN THE CLASSIC BLACK AND WHITE SCREENING. BEST MOVIE OF 2023. 🙌🏽

The Ifukube hits harder in B&W

Went to go watch it today, and didn’t realize it was black and white showing. When I realized I was pretty pumped, I haven’t seen it in colour, but I think it makes it more creepy and honestly more Godzilla

I've grown up watching Godzilla since I was a 8yrs old, people laughed cause I found Godzilla to be my favorite Monster, got all his movies and still to this day I watch any, every and all things Godzilla. Godzilla 1954, Return 84/85, Shin Godzilla and now both Godzilla minus 1& 1/C ..... Is without a doubt the all time best reboot I've ever seen ! 70th anniversary, 45 yrs old, keep it coming ! Lol 👍

I loved it, but I still prefer the color version. I missed the amazing blue glow from his breath attack, as well as on his spikes. And I missed the detail on stuff like the deep sea creatures that float around before Godzilla shows up. Also had a few destruction scenes that were harder to distinguish what was going on. But I did love the addition of film grain and other little camera effects they added to make it feel more vintage.

This film title looks less like a film title and more like a math equation

Saw Minus Color this weekend. Loved it as much as the color version which I saw twice in IMAX. There was once scene that I distinctly remember standing out in the B&W version and that was a shot of Godzilla's eyes turning completely white. It was during his atomic breath scene in the 3rd act - either when he exploded the unmanned destroyer or right when he was charged back up just before the shinden flew into his mouth. Pretty sure it was the latter. His eyes were glowing white and it was both horrifying and incredibly creepy.

I went to see minus 1 and my wife didn’t want to go. When I said I was going to w/o color and she said she wanted to see that. Loved it. This is great.

Years ago the show Monk did a special episode where they showed a color version and a black and white episode. I still think back on this episode to this day and know the black and white version was the superior version. It just hit different and always asked why this was never done more in other forms of media. I am going to see Godzilla minus one minus color tomorrow for this very reason. I already know this will feel different even if all that is changed is the color.

I haven’t watched Godzilla Minus one yet but you made me want to. I hope you watched the Gurren Lagann movies while they were in theaters because that series is up your alley in terms of quality.

Went and saw it with a friend over Christmas holiday. The mark of a good movie is when you think about it weeks after the fact. Whether that's the theme or a plot point. And for me it was the theme. That's how I know it was good.

I need to catch this film again. This is my favorite movie of last year. It is damn good.

I was lucky enough to catch this movie on the last day of showing in the UK and I loved it so much. Big thanks to Geekdom because I didn't know it was even a thing until I saw his review. But unfortunately, no local cinemas are showing the minus colour version so I guess I'll have to wait for the dvd/blu ray/stream to watch it

As amazing as this movie was in color, it had an even more amazing feel in black and white, and was way beyond what I expected.

-1/-Color was beautiful! I'm a fan of classic black & white movies. It truly looked like a genuine black & white movie made in the past. Some of the scenes looked surreal. The way you light a black & white movie is different from the way you light a color movie. There did appear to be some grain but the director didn't go overboard with it. In my opinion, -1/-Color is the better version.

I saw it yesterday morning in the minus color version. 2nd time seeing this film in total: I gotta say I like the color version more, but the B&W version adds a new dimension to the film

Just saw it in 4DX and wow did it add to the experience, if you can see it in that format .. I recommend it.

I don’t know if this was because I saw this movie twice and I know the general chain of events but I was able to focus more on the audio and the framing and shot composition. It makes me appreciate the movie far more seeing how the lack of color makes it easier to see how they play with negative and positive space. The music I noticed especially during the first scene at sea with minus one where it felt like Godzilla was a grim reaper like figure with the haunting bells, seeing him ruthlessly slaughter the crew of the takao. This film was masterfully crafted to take advantage of the medium of film making and I feel the black and white version takes full advantage of the lack of color.

Zack Snyder’s Justice league has a monochrome version and it’s far superior to the color version IMO. I picked up on a lot of details in the monochrome that I missed in the colored version
