Hi everyone. Due to a copyright claim on what I thought was creative commons background footage, I had to cut out two parts of this video (approx 1 min). I don't want you to miss out on any information, so here is the script of what was said during these cut parts: 29:43 - "Let's look back and see why this story is what it is. As you are aware by the title of this video, I suggested Godzilla NES is the most disturbing creepy pasta of all time. So let me tell you why. According to Venngage..." 30:38 - "...and end on a cliffhanger. If we look back at Godzilla NES, we can match each of these themes with different parts of the story. The story is told from a first person perspective. Unexplained phenomena occur, such as strange glitches, metaphysical events, and fourth-wall breaks. Red is a terrifying entity with supernatural abilities We discover the tragic death of Zach’s girlfriend was caused by the entity. The story contains an abundance of highly detailed screenshots. And it all ends on a cliffhanger, making us wonder where the game ends up next. And it's all of these elements..."

Something I appreciate about Red is that he is restricted, for example in sonic.exe sonic can catch up and kill you whenever he wants defeating the point of playing, Red ca't do that he states in the final battle "Can't break the rules" after being accused of cheating. This shows the fact Red has to follow the rules of the game but can bend them to his advantage, if he can't be invincible he can give himself a lot of health, if he can't 1 shot he can do a lot of damage, if he can't stop you from playing he'll make sure you can't stop playing. This makes Red a threat while not feeling unbeatable or generically overpowered.

My favorite part about this story is that it's not a standard creepypasta. The story has good humor, creepiness, and a good ending. I also really like godzilla and all the references to the franchise is amazing. Red is also terrifying. It's not just a creepy story, it's an amazing story.

A few corrections: Zach never gave up at any point, he was trying to the end to unlock the forbidden character even whilst losing feeling. The final fight was not effortless. Zach had half a health bar left before finally killing red.

It’s not bad it’s just check offs gun without showing that the gun exists like wtf you just had a small pistol up your sleeve this whole time from the beginning and never talked about it or used it expect for this one small moment when you would need something like that the most? He should have talked about seeing her and still feeling like she’s around protecting him or they should have made the symbolism a bit more obvious then a few moments.

I cannot imagine this game in the game characters's perspectives. Godzilla, or Gojira in Japan, a being who is known and feared as the King of Monsters; but yet compared to something like Red who is easily a few stories taller than him/her (I can't remember Godzilla's canon gender, sorry) and has spider legs, long clawed arms, a scorpion-like tail, giant mouth and looking like a rotting mass of meat? That must be terrifying. Thinking that you're the most unstoppable and scariest Kaiju, but this huge red thing can easily grab you and *eat you* when it catches you as if you're nothing but a small snack to it? I can't imagine how terrifying and demeaning that would be for our beloved King of Monsters. And for our dear Mothra. She's a protector for the world, she's meant to keep humans safe from the terror of Godzilla before (at least to my memory?) becoming friends with Godzilla and the other Kaiju. I can't imagine how it would feel to be a protector but being completely powerless to stop what's happening to your friends because of this creature named Red keeps destroying everything you've been trying so desperately to protect. The poor girl must've been absolutely horrified to be living through this hellish situation.

Godzilla is referred to as a girl or a none gender pronoun depending on how nice they want to make her out to be she even gives birth in one of the movies I think she also give birth in 2 others but I’m not so sure since iv only seen little from them.

Then again she’s called the king of monsters so I think in the original and a few others after it she was a boy. But later on when she was meant to be more of a protector and symbol of natures rightful wraith she became a girl and stayed that way since after that they never call her a boy only none gender or a girl.

My interpretation though is that she’s both she changes her gender based on what she needs it’s why she can be so gentle and kind but also ruff and mean because if she’s a real lizard like a dinosaur it really wouldn’t make sense other wise and certain lizard and frog species can do that. Yeah it is a little cheesy because the footage he was showing was from a game designed to simulate the creepypasta in the audio drama I watched however it was just still pictures so It did make it pretty creepy. You could image Godzilla being chassed and the fact that Zachry actually out ran him the first time unlike the footage shown. Edit: He also forgot to mention the the really creepy part where Zach said "YES" after out running red of witch Red responded by looking through the game directly at him witch was super creepy in the audio drama recommend checking that out if this story interests you I think It's the ideal way to experience this creepypasta.

I'm going to be 100% honest, the movie shin godzilla is 1000 times scarier than any internet godzilla horror story, like knowing this giant creature that is constantly in pain due to it constantly changing and bleeding and that it could hypothetically have evolved into another universe just to fight humans, and that the atomic breath scene has an opera song about not being remembered after who die, absolutely haunting, but I'm not saying nes Godzilla is bad, quite the contrary, it's my favorite creepypastas actually. I super liked everything about this creepypasta. I actually really liked the ending. It was so unexpected to have a surge of angelic power. The creepypasta and this video does such a good job making you feel immersed in the darkness that you genuinely want to bust out of it. Unlike most creepypastas which aren't immersive enough for you to want a good ending. In most creepypastas you aren't as invested or scared, so you'd rather just have the ambiance of a grim ending than a divine intervention. Plus, I love spiritual stuff and angels.

God, Sonic.exe is basically what everyone thinks of when they hear the word Creepypasta. I hate it as a member of the Sonic fandom, as I enjoy reading Creepypasta stories as well, as I find it interesting what people come up with. But I've even PLAYED Sonic.exe and it is not all that it is cracked up to be, I consider Sonic.exe to be the most boring of all Creepypastas. When I read NES Godzilla, I immediately enjoyed it, as I found it to be an intensely engaging story that was well crafted, similarly to other creepypastas I enjoy, like Hell Bell, Snow On Mount Silver or Starved. It's why I consider it to be one of my favorite creepypastas that I've read so far

Those who have played RLcraft modpack for Minecraft know that Red is actually the final boss in that modpack, found in the parasites dimension, and is known as Amalgalich, the undead boss. It summons parasitic versions of regular Minecraft mobs that could easily 2KO the player even in full enchanted diamond armor and take a lot of hits to die even with enchanted diamond swords.

When you mentioned Red turning to look at Zach after he shouted in triumph, I suddenly remembered that the original Famicon had a microphone built into the second controller, which a few niche games could use to respond to your voice. That makes it all the more intimidating, because the game genuinely could’ve been programmed to react in that manner.

What I love is that, even when Zach comes to the realization that the game isn’t normal, he still gives reasons for why he continued playing. He wanted answers, and it’s something that would always haunt him if he just let it be and stopped. He even made plans on what he would do in the event it proved to be too much for him. Plus he assumed, naturally, that there wasn’t anyway a video game could hurt him, even one behaving the way this one did. And when it DID get to be too much, he tried to put a stop to it, but by then that wasn’t in his control. And the Organic Level in Zenith is, for me, easily the scariest level in the game. Its the only time in the entire story it went with the “realistic, gruesome graphics” but they’re done in a way that makes it so much worse, it’s described as “semi-real” looking in the story, which is the perfect description. The visuals of the level are done in such a way that they look almost look real, photo like in a way. Especially compared to the more normal looking graphics in the rest of the game. But its still pixelated enough to where its obvious its NOT real. It feels wrong, and unsettling. Almost like an uncanny valley type of effect.

I think the game itself is a representation of Zack’s childhood memories. Thats why it’s a normal game for everyone else who possessed it. The early parts where he talks about the nostalgia don’t necessarily imply this, but they would make sense. It’s fun at first for Zack, but it brings back some memories he’d rather not confront. Blood *Red* memories that he would rather *Run* from. That’s why new monsters appear too - because Zach loved the Godzilla franchise as a whole, so it all got incorporated into his game. Red not only represents the virus that killed Melissa, but also Zach’s memory of her death. That’s why Red’s eyes are such a huge symbol - it’s a painful reminder of the last look he ever got at Melissa’s face. It’s a memory that consumes all of his other memories (represented as the monsters he unlocks) until it is the only one left. Facing it on his own caused Zach a great deal of pain. It isn’t until Red consumes the last of Zach’s childhood (Godzilla) that he finally realizes he can’t do it alone. That’s why the Angel helps him. Zach realized that Melissa’s final resting place is in his memory, and it always will be. He can’t let Red take that from him. He won’t. He crushes Red with memories of Melissa’s soul, freeing his childhood memories from the trauma once and for all. That’s why he sells the game at the end. Because he’s finally ready to let go. Note: I’m not really sure how the Quiz Levels and Face play into this. Perhaps they are replays of conversations he had with Melissa? Maybe it’s a memory of psychological evaluations he had to take after witnessing Melissa’s death? I’m not really sure.

Honestly I think the game was actually trying to help Zach by having him literally play through his trauma. Red takes the form of his trauma, and people with traumatic experiences often blame themselves and the trauma even ‘consumes’ people if it’s that bad. The game has him literally fight his demons, and the only way he could truly defeat them was by coming to terms with Melissa and her death, which allows him to unlock the weapons he needs to finally defeat his trauma. In the end, the game helped him, and will continue helping people through their traumas with the game.

This is just my opinion, we know that Melissa ran through traffic and got hit by the truck and Zach said that she had these "episodes" that is coming back and forth on her head. What if she played this cursed version of godzilla game before Zach does, and when she first encounter RED after a few hours playing the game, she stopped playing the game, but he still exist in her mind as the "episode" Zach referred to. So, after having these nonstop "episode", she decided to unalive herself by getting hit by a truck.

If I remember correctly, the author got so much backlash from the ending that he made a second ending where the game cartridge gets sent flying from the NES and explodes never to be seen again, I think it was a joke ending

it's not necessarily disturbing, the ending of revealing that the game is haunted is cliché, but with mel coming along and asking him to save her, it's sweet and totally out weights the cliche-ness, atleast for me.

It’s not cliche. It literally created the haunted game cartridge genre. It’s like watching really early Simpsons episodes and seeing all the plots that would be considered standard now but were revolutionary at the time.

@@SOBEKCrocodileGod I can see how cheesy would be cringy to some, but in this case I personally liked it. It showed the sheer humanity of the protagonist in his fear and pain, as the realization of the overall paradox strikes you. He's still holding onto the memories of his loved one, refusing to let go even through all the pain this generates him. This is what makes this particular creepypasta different. It is creepy, sure, but it is undoubtedly more realistic than the usual "found cartridge" creepypasta cliché.
