While scouring the sewers of New York, Nick Tatopoulos discovers one of Godzilla's eggs has survived. The hatchling that emerges escapes and by the time the team finds him again he has grown into a massive adult. Godzilla recognizes Nick's scent and imprints on him as his parent. As the team tries to study the new Godzilla, the U.S. military, responding to a series of disappearances in Jamaica, attack and seemingly kill Godzilla.

Godzilla: The Series is a fast-paced animated adventure that pits humanity against a new generation of giant monsters. After defeating Godzilla, biologist Dr. Nick Tatopoulos stumbles upon her hatchling, which bonds with the scientist as a parental figure. Nick sets out to study not only this new generation, but also to investigate reports of monsters of all types and other environmental anomalies menacing the Earth. Each exciting episode is a pulse-pounding monster-hunt to defend humankind against mutant threats.

There’s something about the subtleties of this art style and less fancy animation that is super appealing and kind of nostalgic. And the writing of this really stands up for a kids show follow up to the 1998 Godzilla. It might be better that they were forced to go in this direction instead of more movies in the same verse.

The fact the original art composers who worked on Men in Black TAS also worked on Godzilla TAS is unbelievably incredible. Now the music composer for Godzilla TAS was none other than Jim Latham, who by the way was a big fan of Gargoyles TAS, wanted to incorporate the trumpet 🎺 sound with a futuristic upbeat tempo. And thus Godzilla TAS thematic opening was born.

It's implied it mutated more next to the electric cables by its egg (aka cartoon plot logic), faster growth cycle, as well as it having the atomic breath that its parent lacked.

This series is a gem. Love its science and actions even as adult now. It would have great if the recent movies were based on this series. Because the story and plots are more accurate than Monsterverse fantasy.
