This week on "James and Mike Mondays" they take a look at a game which stems from one of their favorite monster films -- Godzilla!
Godzilla is popular among movie-buffs. Godzilla was originally released in 1954 in Japan and has many sequels following it, including movies based on fighting other monsters. The giant monster has also appeared in comic books, video games, books, and television series.
Godzilla Unleashed was released in 2007 and is a 3D fighting game based off of the Godzilla Universe. It was developed by Pipeworks and published by Atari. This specific title is set near by unnatural disasters due to large crystals across Earth, where the Vortaak alien race are invading, once again. The game is also a sequel to "Godzilla: Destroy All Monster Melee" and "Godzilla: Save the Earth."

Can you imagine if Godzilla hosted the Weather Channel's updates? And instead of Low and High Pressure Systems and Suns and Clouds, the map was just little pictures of Godzilla moving across the ocean towards your cities. And Godzilla just menacingly roared as it pointed at each one with his fat rubber glove claws?

They need to make another fighter that actually includes all the monsters instead of constantly leaving out Battra, Biolante, and Zilla. And while they're at it, just fucking give Zilla blue atomic breath. Hell, he had it in the animated series. Cause right now, he's just a waste of awesome character design that shows up in movies and comics as a living punching bag. If Toho wants to include him in the same universe as Godzilla, reboot him and make him a fucking proper kaiju. Just because he comes from a shitty movie doesn't mean he shouldn't have a chance to stand with the rest.

Mike's views with the Transformers Syndrome was EXCATLY what I felt upon seeing The Dark of the Moon! Most of the story in that movie was with the humans while we paid extra money to see Transformers in 3D!

Here is why "Godzilla vs. Gamera" won't happen, and it's the sad truth: the old Japanese men who run Toho Corporate (not Toho Eiga, which actually makes the movies) consider Gamera "beneath" Godzilla and won't allow Godzilla to share the same film as what they consider to be a rip-off. It's Toho that won't allow it. Kadokawa (who owns Gamera now) wants to do it and had actively sought it.

Wow they predicted alot of things that eventually happened. Full House reunion, Godzilla vs King Kong. There is another video with them where they talk about the Karate Adult which of course Cobra Kai existed a few years later.

It's like clairvoyance or being psychic, in that it refers to predicting things, but it's generally not used to refer to supernatural or magical means of predicting something. It's more used to refer to someone using logic or instinct to predict things.

i think the reason the trailer for godzilla had no dialogue and was so mysterious is because they purposely don't want us to know anything about the film, which i think is a great idea. I hate how trailers nowadays give away so much

I remember playing Godzilla on the Game Boy Color. I was a Godzilla kid once upon a time and it was the first game I ever got for a hand-held system. I was actually pretty good at it. I play it once again and I realized something, It sucks. The main reason why is because it was too easy! I was like 5 at the time and I new knew why I was so good at it until more recent days.

I do love Godzilla 2014, but I do admit, that Hawaii scene was such a cop-out. The suspense building up to Godzilla's introduction was so masterful, and then it just cut away to a kid watching it on TV, muted. That was such a tease. But that final fight was so unbelievably visceral and epic, and the ending so respectful to Godzilla. Overall, a powerful experience. Excited for the new movie, at any rate, and hope Godzilla will be more central to it.

I'm so glad Toho is making a new Godzilla movie in 2016! :) I was afraid the Legendary Godzilla would be the only one we'd be seeing for an indefinite period of time. It was an alright movie, but it just didn't have that authentic touch that only Toho can do.

I enjoyed the new Godzilla, because it was shot so well and made Godzilla serious again. Yes, I can see why people are upset that he was barely in the movie, but for what is was (a startup movie to make sure people will want more Godzilla), it did a great job. The cinematography, effects, and direction were excellent for a monster movie. The camera wasn't shaky or using any cheap tricks. It was genuine filmmaking that made many scenes like the monster fights and skydiving scene very cinematic. It didn't exploit the action like most new movies would have. It took itself seriously and it didn't have very many negative aspects that can't be fixed in the next movie. Lionsgate already announced a sequel in the works, and I'm sure they'll address the issues. Which are only two things, Godzilla's minor screen time and the somewhat bland acting. At least every scene with Godzilla was amazing. And thank God, Megan Fox wasn't the leading actor.

They should gradually start building up the monsters. Maybe in the next one we has the Smog Monster or something slightly obscure. Then in the next movie you could have Gigan. Then in the final movie of the group, the whole movie builds up to Godzilla's fight with Ghidorah. That one I would pay to see.

Josh Thomas My favorites shots was where Godzilla was about to fight the Mutos and then it faded out, or where Godzilla was about to fight the mutos and it used a hole in a skyscraper as a camera escape, or the 10 times the camera panned away during everything that didn't have to do with crying soldier dude-guy and hot-crying nurse wife.

I wonder if James & Mike have seen Godzilla: The Series. You know that underrated animated tv show based off the HORRIBLE Tri Star 1998 Godzilla movie. The cartoon is made by the same people that gave us Jackie Chan Adventures, The Boondocks, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Dilbert the TV series, Extreme Ghostbusters, and Men In Black the animated series. If they make another godzilla game, it should be an upgraded version of this game. This was by far the best and most varied to date.

Heh, that's a funny thought. Tarzan could crawl up Godzillas asshole and disturb his digestion. Eventually Godzilla would die of chronic constipation.

*SPOILERS* Tarzan and his Waziri warriors and some other guys from Pellucidar ride on the backs of triceratops-like creatures and push the predators' main ship off a cliff. Then it explodes and everyone lives happily ever after. The end.

The trailer of Godzilla 2014 blew my mind, I could feel the scare of being defeated as a humanbeing. It really showed us that this is something that we will be afraid of. That is, if they pull it off nicely.
