They actually explained somewhere how Godzilla can get bigger than normal animals. Because of his radiotrophic biology, his bones are laced with uranium and other heavy metals, making them far stronger then normal bone yet lighter and more flexible than a metal beam of equivalent scale. He's less a living creature and more a gigantic fossil whose minerals are animated by bizarre radio-chemical processes.
@garretverduga19275 ай бұрын
I think I saw somewhere that a limiting factor to the bigness of animals is that bigger body means more body heat and at a certain size they would just overheat and die.

So funny thing about that "evolve like whales" bit is that Godzilla's original name in Japanese is Gojira, which is a portmanteau of the words Gorilla (Gorira) and Whale (Kujira), which means his literal name is Gorilla-Whale.

I'm imaging a hilarious parody of godzilla coming out of the water, but instead of a giant scary lizard monster it's literally just a godzilla sized (but otherwise normal looking) penguin. So the fact he spends most of his time in the water, actually makes sense. And going by some of the skeletal drawings done the creators, he has extremely thick leg bones, and even his spine gets thicker and heavier as it gets closer to his legs. Godzilla is massive, but like a sea turtle, he can leave the water for short periods. The newer movies also help with the idea thats he a mostly aquatic reptile, by having him take long rests when on land, and he even seems to use radation the way other reptiles use solar heat.

Shin godzilla is the best semi-realistic version of godzilla. His girst phase is similar to this depiction, hating its existence bleeding out his gills as his body rapidly mutates rejecting its old blood. What you left with is a massive lizard that constantly mutates keeping its bones from breaking at that mass, meaning its constantly in pain at all time.
