Shimo is the largest land-based titan that has appeared on screen in the Monsterverse movies so far. Even though she spends most of her time on all fours, she can also stand on two legs, a bit like a Komodo Dragon. She is bigger even than Ghidorah. Also, according to the special effects people who worked on the film, she was the hardest monster they've ever had to create due to how much detail went into it.

Oh shit it’s a blue eyes white dragon. Initially planned as an "ice version of Godzilla", but eventually that was dropped. Her overall appearance is based on Komodo dragons and polar bears, and facial features modeled after chameleons.

this movie feels so much like an Anime. It's got the absurd fights, people standing around awkwardly spouting exposition, the only thing missing is Kong gasping as the background whooshes by him after Godzilla yells about this not even being his final form. It's freaking awesome.

Funny thing is the young ape is as big as Kong was on Skull Island, that’s how much bigger Kong has grown since he left the island. Mothra is constantly reborn and there are always two eggs in waiting that the Mothra lays before battle, just in case.

This whole movie is basically when you’re a kid playing with your action figures in the craziest fights possible, and I absolutely loved this movie for it!

Another movie has been announced for 2026 or 27. Monarch does have a second season that looks to be Kong focused. A good way to humanize Godzilla is to give him a "son" like he had in the 60's and 90's films. I don't mind Kong being in the movie, but next one needs to be more about Godzilla.

The evil ape in this movie's name is Skar King and the little ape's name is Suko.

Godzilla really does seem to operate on the three strikes rule. Scylla was on that third strike. And Kong apparently was too in Egypt. I might be wrong but I figured Godzilla attacked Kong in Egypt because he knew a problem with the apes was coming and the timing of Kong appearing to challenge him again made Godzilla think that Kong had allied himself with Scar King. And it wasn't until Mothra intervened that he realized Kong was actually OPPOSING Scar King. This is why I don't think Godzilla and Kong will fight again. I think they finally understand each other..

Shimo An ancient and legendary Titan whose ability to control ice caused the Last Ice Age. Her raw power hint she is stronger than Godzilla but in some instances his speed and atomic breath still give him the edge

I think the part where Kong gets his armor gauntlet is a reference to the old Trendmaster Power up Godzilla toyline, where Godzilla and other monsters wear hi tech armor with weapons

I like Jia but I was kinda dissapointed that they never follow up with the Mothra twins that was referenced in KOTM.🫣

As a movie... fun enough. Nothing special, bit meh, inoffensive. But those Kaiju fights were beyond batshit crazy cool, it reminded me of the first Pacific Rim where they just got the tone, the forces involved and all the fun down to an absolute T. It felt so meaty and yeh, huge amount of fun watching this.

I love this movie so much. Its such an example of 'fuck it, we ball'. Lets just make a movie as fun as possible with its premise, while also doing an amazing job at doing it. The long scenes without dialogue with the monsters still have great story telling, the characters in this movie are actually entertaining and interesting as they buy into their own premise without a knowing wink of 'look how absurd this is'. Then they go 'cause its cool lets have them suplex each other' and everyone says 'hell yeah'.

In my experience, "Dozilla" is usually a name for ungraceful parodies of Godzilla coming from the Japanese word "Doji" meaning klutz or or a clumsy person, like Clodzilla from Yo-kai Watch whose Japanese is "Dojira," and is known for being very clumsy, and I also think this is used in Pani Poni (namely the manga) to describe the character Yuzuko Kurusu in her Kaiju cosplay as she falls in a clumsy manner and her clubmates make fun of her by calling her "Dojira" or "Clumzilla" in some translations

Many people believe the Godzilla that ate the star and could fly is actually Space Godzilla. Stars are from outer space and there is a chance Space Godzilla was the one who taught Scar King of how to control Shimo with the crystal.

I’ve seen a video of a music video of Kong with Son of Man song from Tarzan. But went to see this movie twice. First viewing with a friend of mine and her family and second viewing myself watching it but in 3D. I really enjoyed this movie.

The 10th Anniversary of The MonsterVerse. These iconic titans together have given us nothing but goodness. Kong for 90 years, Godzilla for 70 years and being part of this has been so entertaining. Movie No. 5, GxK is amazingly good. I saw it IMAX 3D with a packed house, opening weekend. The science, history, culture of this universe is vast. Some people go to watch these movies for the battles, but the background of such things are interesting to me and because everything has a reason to exist. The human characters are important (they are). Subtle connections from us to these beasts and beyond aren't just because of the same world, different levels. These Titans are the showstoppers, established or newly introduced, ally or threat. Loved the homages to the classic films with Godzilla's newer colors (Godzilla 2000 from 1999) and Kong's Powerhouse mechanism harnessing energy (King Kong vs. Godzilla from 1962). As for the battles, they are beyond incredible with the effects and Mo Cap, savage yet articulated. After all the hype and success of this film, you gotta wonder what could happen next? So much more they can pull from the classics to add in for this universe. Either way, we want more.

The one thing about these movies that I love which might be seen as an insult but that’s not the intention It’s not a cerebral movie There’s no underlying themes beyond the surface and overt. It’s not trying to say anything to motivate you or challenge you, which might be a negative to some To me it’s a positive, why? Easy Cause they’re giant monster that are fighting and the only thing that matters is how cool it looks. Which is rad as hell.

at first, i really didn’t like that they started leaning into the extremely silly sci-fi stuff. godzilla 2014 was exactly the tone i was looking for when i heard they were making a monster cinematic universe. KOTM had some really special moments, but it didn’t quite hit the same. naturally, GvK really disappointed me. the tone was so laughably cartoonish, the monsters moved too fast, and it seemed disrespectful to the original intention of godzilla as a character: an ugly amalgamation of the horrors of nuclear war. after some time, i realized it’s a fucking monster movie and it’s not that serious. i had a blast with this lol.

I’ve commented this in a separate reaction video but I’ll elaborate it here. I love how it seems like Godzilla actively doesn't want to be here. He spends the whole movie getting stronger so he can end the fight as soon as possible and go back to bed. He HATES Kong and all the wacky adventures he goes on, and is guilt-tripped by Mothra into helping him. He's an unwilling participant in his own movie and its kinda hilarious That look he gives Kong at the end after Kong smirks at him is, “If it wasn’t for Mothra, I’d have left you for dead with a smile on my face. I had to beat on 3 women today (Scylla, Tiamat, Shimu), and being associated with you has been my lowest moment”
