Thank you for this great video and the direct comparaison of the original working beside the facelift version. What I miss, like obviously commentator "Alex Do" does, is how the LED facelift version reacts if the reverse gear is engaged. Also the break action would be interesting to be seen. I am thinking about replacing my original W221 2008 tail lights for the facelift version but it scares me to do it as I am really helpless when it comes to use tools. I know everybody says its very easy, but you dont know me... First thing would be to remove the parts you shown on your video by popping out the finxing clips, but how many clips need to be removed for each rear, right and left covers and where are these located? Unfortunately, on your video the parts are already removed and you dont show how to do it and how to fix them back after the new lights have been installed. I hope I wont break anything or get hurt when I will start the procedure... I am bleeding already by only thinking about it and it would be a great help to have a drawing or a description on the amount and positions of the clips needing to be removed prior accessing the lights. Now on eBay, really nice and original looking red/clear and red/smoked versions are sold and they have all necessary electronics on board to use them as plug and play without any error message appearing on the display. Your versions are the red/clear ones like the real facelift versions. I may go for the smoked version as my car is black. Important information I received from the local MERCEDES-BENZ dealer when I asked him about possibility and price to replace them: the original Mercedes-Benz Facelift LED rear lights will not fit into the W221 models before facelift (2005-2009) because they have different fixing points as well as different plugs. Beside that, only the lower LED horizontal U-stripes will work while the facelift model have the complete surface lit by both LED U stripes (like on your video). It is apparently possible to solve these problems but it needs some technical and electrical skills. Can you confirm that the ones you installed are not the original MERCEDES-BENZ items? If so I will go for the "Original Equipment Manufacturer" models offered on the net. The best one I found are sold for between EUR 244,90 and EUR 291,90 a pair including freight costs. Once again, thank you for helping all users with your videos.

You did not have to put load resistors on the both tail lights? Since you were upgrading to LED's.

I thought I was the only one who favored those 2014+ Mercedes Benz S550, S63, S65 back rear lights over those 2013 and lower... That little issue right there is why I don't want to buy an older one but thanks to this video I'll probably reconsider... Option 1: Buy a current year 2017-2014 Merc Benz S63 or S65 and spend over 100K+ Option 2: Buy a 2007-2013 Merc Benz S63 or S65 and spend half the amount of 100K and spend a little buying custom front and back lights, making it look like a newer version or better version than the current one out....Why not?

The lower diffuser on the bumper, did you change the entire bumper for the facelifted one or just the diffuser. If so, where did you buy the part?

I just got these lights and installed them. I noticed that the Depo lights have vertical fins at the top edge instead of the smooth finish of the original. When I mounted them, it looked like water could leak at the top corner through those fins. Did you address this or ever have any issues with leaking in the area? I ended up putting on a 3 inch strip of 3M double sided tape in that area over those fins to attempt to seal that off to prevent leaks. I hope it works!

if its 07 and a 65 it has DVD. Just go to the dealer and ask for a telematics update for 08+so you can play dvd. So you know it only plays in park. In less you get video in motion. As for other then 65 I dont know if it comes with DVD or not might have been an option.

I changed the lights out on my S550 but the middle leds by the reverse did not come on and i got a warning in my dash, do you think i got a defective pair or do i have to do something else?

My clc has the rear led high level led strip, a few leds don't work and it's full of condensation. Do you know how easy it is to replace? Also is it possible to buy and replace single leds or the whole strip?

You skipped the actual removal of the fixture from the body of the car. Wish you had included that in the video. I have a 2010 S63 and need to change the turn bulb.
