Rest in Peace, Ronnie. 87 and still ( up there) rocking! You were and will continue to be one of the most inimitable talents in the music biz...All the individuals and bands you moulded, inspired, helped- hand jive forever! I had The Privilege to See You Live in Concert- WOW! Always a big, genuine, smile- Namaste ( sprinkle some rock and roll juice on Putin will you- he needs to STOP, hug John L. too- SO MANY MUSICIANS TO INCLUDE- I'm still "imagining, with those bluebirds over the mountain, Martin Luther King's mountain...)

This is sad as there was only ONE Ronnie Hawkins. I first met him in 1962 at L' Coq d'or in Toronto. Man, what a show he put on!

He was a gentleman and a lovely person through and through. I had a friend who worked as a waitress at one of Ronnie's shows. He was a rascal and he was hitting on her playfully. Not seriously and she knew it. She just played along and always enjoyed it when he came back to town. He was so funny and he was a sweetheart. RIP Ronnie. Thanks for the laughs and the music.

I was too young to get into Le Coq D'or but heard Ronnie as I walked upstairs to the Hawks Nest. Non licenced place for the underaged to hang out. Good times and thank you for posting and remembering Ronnie.

I always said ronnie, levon and conway were the real kings of R&R , "the toughest on Younge street", we were only happy and honored to adopt an Arkansas Rebel and make him a Canadian Legend...
