This is the scene from episode 184 of Dragon Ball Z where Gohan breaks through his mental blocking preventing him from unleashing his anger enough to achieve an even higher level of power than his current Super Saiyan state.
This version features the broadcast or "on-air" version of the audio and the Simmons translation for the subtitles.

1:56 That Oozaru roar in the background...it's just...man. That takes it from top 3 moments in the series to the very top by a large margin for me.

Pure power and underused(for a good reason probably) The only other time they used the effect was when Goku and Vegeta went SSJ2 in the Buu arc. It was extremely chilling hearing it with Vegeta

Cell saga my not be the best saga, maybe not even the 2nd best but damn this is the most epic part in all of Dragon Ball series!

Because of how the whole Buu saga seemed to be a series of pandering to fans who didn't like drastic changes to the status quo, I will always see the Cell saga as the true poetic ending to the story of Dragon Ball. To me, Dragon Ball was always a story of innocence prevailing over evil no matter what. I don't think it really realizes that idea until the birth of Gohan and the stark contrast in his life that he takes to Goku's as a child. While it's not canon, the anime does a lot to foreshadow this element of Gohan's character as he grows up. He doesn't want to kill or hurt anything (whereas kid Goku was decapping demons left and right). He feels empathy even for some broken down robot as he's wandering around all lost as part of Piccolo's training. Gohan is the ultimate symbol of innocence throughout his story in Dragon Ball, only ever stumbling across his true power through moments of uncontrolled rage, something he's' deeply afraid of. This moment is Gohan's realization. After coming across an inorganic form of intelligence that shared a similar love and admiration of the beauty of life and watching him sacrifice himself before his very eyes, this is the realization of the truth of evil in this world. People that would love for nothing more than to squash out life itself for no other reason than spite. To show his immeasurable amounts of love for life itself, he chooses to fight and to protect.

The Majin Boo arc did feel like a new show by itself, but splitting it from Z wouldn't have been a good financial decision.

You do know most of the decisions in the buu saga were toriyama's ideas completely and not changes made by editors like cell saga

@@windandfireproductions5358 Bit of a late reply, but while I do understand this, it was still pandering regardless. It didn't make sense to backtrack on Gohan's character development for any reason but to bump Goku back up.
