Coming from someone that has tried the method before: it was hard. When you put a timer to a question or task you know that's the limit you can spend on the said thing, sometimes (for me... *math* ) you get really into the problem and does not see time passing, therefore the timer will go off and you're not finished - or you'll look at the clock and boom, it's passed the time. Personally it made me so frustrated I'd cry sometimes, made it hard to do things on time because the repetition of this events got my self-trust to the ground and even harder to get on track since I now avoided the clock. Not to say that rushing may lower the quality of your task and end up getting you a lower grade. I get the appeal and will try again to see if anything changes this time, it sounds like a great way to prepare for tests since they have a strict time.

This is actually really true I procrastinate a lot and consistently go to bed at 12 when I can go at like 10 if I spent more time doing actual work but I don't cuz I think I have all day. then on days when I'm busy and get home at 10 I finish all my homework by 12 because I actually focus since there is a time constraint

I started with that method since I started Year 7, I did 1 assignment for a certain time, took a short 5 min break and did the next one. This cuz doing hw for a long period of time for me can really make me feel burnt out, so the break time makes me look forward to finishing my work

Tbh if, for example, I have three days to get something done and I’ll do it on the evening of the last day, it will only take a few hours, sure, but the quality will absolutely suffer. If I actually space out the work and take longer breaks in-between, the outcome is much better. So it really depends on your priorities. And tbh, if I start earlier I usually finish way faster than I initially thought and have more free time left but I barely do that haha
