Bangladesh Women's Driving School: Clemency Burton-Hill met a group of young women hoping to be Bangladesh's first female professional drivers. If successful, they'd make a far better living than in the jobs they'd otherwise do, like working in the garment factories in the capital Dhaka.
But none of them have ever been behind a steering wheel before.

This reporter is one helluva brave woman. She's reporting in the midst of a protest, by all those Muslim men, who do not want to give equal rights to women. And to hear 7 Bangladeshi women reporters were attacked while they covered the protest. Wow! I kinda feared for her safety. Brave lady! 👏🏽

#shilpaparikh....."all those Muslim men"? Ma'am, how are the Hindu men of India treating all of you these days? Everything must be very safe, no? So, I must wonder who drove Delhi to be the rape capital of the world and India to be the most unsafe country for women, then? YOU are even a braver lady....you and ALL the women of India....cause you are still living there, even knowing it's safer to be a cow there than to be a woman. BRAVE.

The reason why their husband take them for granted is because they know their wife don't have skills and are dependent on them but if these girls learn skills that let's them support themselves then they wouldn't be taken for granted by their husband.

Freedom to earn your own money and move around as you want is something I know I definitely take for granted most of the time. The pressure on these girls to succeed is equally as great as the pressure on them to fail. Very impressive! I hope all of them got their licence!!

Cool video. As they say, Americans are Tourists, Brittons are travelers. So is the reporter. Sure she took body guards at the rally, but still , she mingled and plodded through. Good deed. As for the Bangladeshi women, you can’t help for having empathy towards them. Their naïveté and bubbly demeanor makes the whole camera capture worthwhile, and sorry to admit, amusing. I am sure it is a big deal for them. Something we take for granted, for them is a big step. The world is theirs to seize.

But particularly in situations like this…it can be even more threatening to speak up for one’s self so their safety and future well being can only hope to be looked after by a governmental entity / charity / collective movement like what they’ve done here. It’s really brave and so very beautiful. ♥️✨
