Sikh elders now living in the United States who are now 101 years old. Before the partition, Baba Ji lived in Chak 4 bhagwan pura Nankana Sahib. Babaji wanted me to visit my village which is in Pakistan but he could not come because the situation in both the countries is not good.
Now Babaji is so old he could not come for almost 101 years old . Now Babaji's grandson and granddaughter came to Pakistan and fulfilled his grandfather's wish
Punjabi Lehar is endeavoring to bridge a gap between the people of East and West Punjab, created by the partition of 1947. Most of the people have passed away with an unfulfilled ardent desire in their heart, to see their birth place and meet their childhood friends. Punjabi Lehar is attempting to fufil the desire of remaining partition era punjabis, who will be gone in the next five to seven years. My Father also visited his village Kalabakra in India, district Jalandhar, in 2010, and brought soil in a shopper, and grew roses in a pot afterwards. Nice work by lovely Singh, and nice to see smiles all over.

People are so welcoming in villages and it gets so emotional seeing, feeling and imagining how our elders may have spent their childhood in the veranda or under a tree at the corner of the street... it touches my heart and I also desire to visit village of my mother who is now 85 years of age have started remembering her childhood friends and their names... Help me God so at least I can go and touch mitti of her birthplace in Gujranwala.

Time is running out since fewer and fewer old people are left and once they are gone, the real memories and bonds which bring people together will also be gone.
