Join me as I decorate my retro den for a cozy Sunday full of reading and watching horror movies on VHS! The Old School April Readathon/Watchathon is drawing to a close. I didn't mean for this to be my one and only video this month, but here we are... Oh well! We are getting in the Old School 80s/90s spirit by reading a Creepers book by Edgar J. Hyde. Creepers is a '90s Goosebumps knock off that is now being reprinted and sold at your local Dollar Tree, just a heads up! I am also watching Headless Eyes (1971) on VHS, courtesy of Full Moon Features Wizard Video VHS line, and tuning into Slime and Slasher's Old School April reading sprints. This is a pretty random vlog, but hopefully it gives you all the retro vibes your heart can handle!

Cameron, please do some more "Cranky Cameron Rant Cams!" I agree wholeheartedly with your rant; everyone's saying they're too busy to do that, too busy to do this, but yet they're busy endlessly scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. Makes me miss some of the simpler things from the '90s.

This is a great video, Cameron. You know, Cameron, it never ceases to amaze me that you’re younger than me and basically live in the bedroom I would have killed for at age ten. Cameron, thank you so much for talking about those Creepers books as well. I mean, that brought back some hardcore memories, Cameron. I remember being in the dollar store with my mom in the ‘90s. I saw those books and said to my mom, “Hey, mom, look at these books. Don’t they resemble Goosebumps?” She said, “Yes, son, they do. How interesting.” I picked up one of them and flipped through the pages. “Mom!” I exclaimed. “Look at these chapters!” I demanded. “Some of them are only one page long,” I informed her. Then, I added, “Isn’t that cool, mom?” She took the book. “If you get one, son,” she began to say, “you will be able to finish reading it in no time,” she finished saying. Sadly, Cameron, I did not buy one. I wish I could educate you on my reasoning, Cameron, but I can’t remember. Now that I know that they’re back, I will have to check them out. Thanks again and keep up the great work…Cameron. 😉

I ordered Autumncrow !!!! So far it's a very fun read I just read burnt brownies last night and it was funny and oh so sad but kept me going! Also enjoyed pumpkin light. Next up is frost. Its nice to explain some of the town before I do fresh hell which I can't wait for the school series ! Love books like that. Oh and I'm not sure if it was you or the seller on pango books it smelled like fall like autumn scents the whole book was soo nice!! Maybe the sellers touch!

This is such a comfy video. Pizza and tv and the couch is such a killer combination. We don't have the Creepers book series in Indonesia (where I live) even during the heyday of the Goosebumps books but now I really want to check them out. Even my late 30s like right now, reading a middle grade horror book brings massive nostalgia feeling like I'm back to simpler, more fun times. This video definitely evokes this nostalgic feelings in me. Great job!

Loving the vibes of this! 🖤 I love that you've been reading Sweet Valley High. I grew up watching the tv show and reading the books. I got them at a used bookstore that's still going! Insane since that's about 20-22 years ago now. I even found several vintage thriller/horror books there early last year. I also grew up reading Goosebumps. I remember sneaking away from everyone during recess at school to go to the school library and read Goosebumps haha.

Fun vlog! Can relate to what you said about movies being an experience. Growing up, I'd check out movies from the library or pick up something random from the clearance bins, and it was always a lot of fun. Found quite a few hidden gems that way, which made all the duds worth it, haha!

Spot on about on about Stine's writing and how it compares to some others. Shivers that same wonky rough feel lol. I read one Creepers (The Sold Souls) and it was crazy dark, especially the ending. Not them strongest but it's was interesting....

Well structured vlog, Cam. Music was complimentary & didn’t overpower. Change of tone, color/lighting & location gave nice variety. The angle of ‘family time’ & its value with going to the rental store was on point. I highly approve of the Camp Crystal Lake mug..I have the exact same one. It makes everything taste better…and now I want Domino’s.

They can be tough to find! Keep looking. I didn’t find them for a long time, then they finally popped up. The new wave of five books wasn’t at any of my dollar trees within two and a half hours of me, but a friend pulled through and found them for me.

It's cool my library does inter library loans so I can get books from other counties. I just finished the surprise party now and going to start the saga tonight of fear street. Thanks, Carter! I haven't started watching 97 yet, but I must! I lived the original 90s series and all the 90s comics, so I feel this show was made for me. :)
