Going Big On a 1999 XR400

My buddy Taylor Alexander was over here with his mint 1999 XR400. So of course I asked if I could lug this beast around 🤠 This thing ripped, it would be awesome to shred one in the woods! If Honda made the XR400 again, would you go get one?

@@578_ nah they're really not bad at all. They make so much torque you don't notice the weight, and they're surprisingly nimble. But yeah. 270 wet weightz which isn't far off modern 450's

I’ve had my 99 for years, easily one of the most reliable bikes I’ve ever owned over the decades. “ The Tractor “! Starts 2nd kick every single time. I don’t ride it anywhere near as insane as this guy, but I’m 60 with a pacemaker, so that’s my excuse. The one bike I have I will never get rid of.

Always wondered why they got rid of that bike even in air cooled form oil cooled whatever. It would honestly make a better bike than the DRZ I think. So just for the sheer reliability and ease of maintenance they should bring back the XR400 and put directionals on it and make a supermodo and a l. But then it will eat up 450L sales. So I guess that's why they don't do it. That 450L kind of is a joke in stock form and also they flame out way too easy

I’ve personally seen a guy do this and I have ridden a DRZ400 like this, definitely not the scrubs, but I have sent it over some questionable jumps and it’s like trying to fly a pig lol gotta disable to the kickstand switch so it doesn’t kill the bike when you come down too hard.
