River Rose is absolutely perfect and it’s so beautiful to see how happy you guys are. After 8 late miscarriages and then lots of health issues, leading to a radical hysterectomy, I wasn’t able to have a child. So I normally can’t watch birth stories, it hurts too much. But I have been part of this “family” for so long and Viall Files is my only must watch podcast. So I had to watch this episode and I’m so glad I did. I shed a few tears but because I’m just so over the moon for you both. Congratulations to you both and welcome to world River Rose 🌹

Natalie, so smart to induce right after she turned! My first was breeched. He turned the week before he was due! Trying to get him to turn back down was sooo painful and didn't work. Ended up having C-section but all was good after that. I was just so glad he was born ok. Enjoy your precious girl! what? Jimmy was NOT the initiator who was pushing the looks convo. *Chelsea* is the one who brought up the entire celebrity lookalike conversation so the whole thing is on her, and whatever celeb he said is bc she asked him, he didnt volunteer it. they showed the footage of her bringing up that convo and then her saying she looks like Megan Fox. she brought that up specifically so she could say she looks like Megan Fox. and 100% agree with Nick in that she did this just to beat Jess. one of the first things she said to her girlfriends about Jimmy was how eVeRyONe LiKeD HiM and she wanted to win amongst more traditionally attractive women. and on a show where the whole point is not knowing what you look like. she really brought this fuullllllyyyyyyy upon herself and only her.

Chelsea was excruciating to watch this last few episodes. It’s very clear why relationships don’t work out for her she’s constantly questioning and crying to manipulate people into validating her in every second. Until she heals her wounds she’s gonna suck the life out of every partner. He really tried to console her and she’s just impossible

My first baby’s birth was similar too! Was stuck at a 4cm for over 12 hours with natural labor contractions so they added pitocin to help. Baby’s heart rate was irregular on the pitocin so they stopped and did the peanut balloon exercises with me for 2 hours. After that they restarted pitocin and baby was doing well. Gave birth 3 hours after the 2nd round of pitocin. It’s so exhausting to hear over and over again that you’re stuck at 4cm. I finally gave into the epidural once they decided to go with pitocin after suffering with no pain meds for over 12 hours. Whew, best decision ever going with the epidural! Lol. Parenthood changes your life forever and now you cannot imagine life without them in it. Congrats again! ❤

There’s alot of reasons I didn’t want an epidural. Epidurals can cause need for more interventions and if you want to avoid them, avoid epidurals. I didn’t like the idea of not feeling my legs or being able to move around. With an epidural, you are stuck on your back which is the worst position for labor actually. And in Natalie’s case, with River being face up, being able to move on her own or birth on her hands and knees would have been really helpful. Anyway, not giving advice or judgment but just thought I’d share a few reasons why I didn’t do epidurals

I didnt start crying until natalie was tearing up talking about him as a dad and how she didn't have that. It is so important for us to choose the right man for our children. People used to tell me I was "too picky" in my teens and early twenties. Nah, I was waiting for the right one. I see so much of my birth story in your story even the baby being pretty chill. I remember when my husband and I had our first and how peaceful and beautiful that was. I hope you go on to have more if you want. Our lives are utter chaos now with two girls and a dog but I would not change one second of it if I could. Your story makes me want to go back through my old pics and videos of that time. I'm so happy for you both. What a lovely world you have created together.

I was induced too and I can 100% relate to the sadness of a new nurse. I had 3 nurses (can guess how long I was in labor for 😅) and the second one promised me that I would have my baby with her because i was 9 centimeters dilated. It was crushing when the next nurse came in. She could tell I was so upset to have a new nurse and she calmed my nerves and ended up being a lot more knowledgeable and warm then the other two. I totally agree that they don’t explain epidurals enough. My daughter is 11 1/2 and the only class discussion we had about it was related to the cost. I would’ve paid that anesthesiologist in Pennie’s when he hooked me up. I truly believe it saved me a c-section and that would’ve cost more and been a longer recovery all together.

I have 3 kids, all by C-section. The 2nd & 3rd epidurals were a breeze for me as well. I felt nothing. The IV in my arm was way more painful. The one with my first child however was horrendous! They used the super long needle. I had to hunch over & hug down on a pillow while a nurse pushed down on my back while the guy stuck the needle in & hit a nerve. I felt surging pain like electrifying down my spine & right leg. It made me jolt uncontrollably & I yelled OWWW! And they scolded me for moving (as if I could help it) & smooshed me down harder. They were like "Oh did that hurt?" & they seemed surprised when I told them about the shooting pain. They said oh well, we'll wait a few minutes to make sure you're numbed correctly before trying again. Thank God it worked. I've had nightmares about the epidural since & was terrified through my next 2 pregnancies cuz I feared going through that again. The 2nd two were that shorter flexible needle and were awesome and painless.

Congratulations!! Thank you for sharing your story! I appreciate everything you said about epidurals and your experience-I' so glad it felt non-invasive for you! For anyone else thinking about getting one or not, I did just want to say there's lots of reasons people get them that isn't because they don't believe in medicine. I know why people get that impression but I didn't want to get one and still believe in medicinr and felt very comfortable being out a hospital setting beause I could be 15 minutes from a hospital (which was closer than our house to one) and trusted my team to be able to help me in plenty of time if I needed to transfer there or get an epidural. For most people you will be happy with whatever decision you made as long as your baby and you are healthy whatever decision you make will be the best one for you.
@tamedspace
@tamedspace 6 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I chose to go unmedicated and it was the best decision for me! And I’m a registered nurse so was educated on the matter-not anti-medicine. Ended up having the most calm, quiet & beyond beautiful unmedicated birth in a hospital and unlike Nick, I asked myself “why do people not consider unmedicated labours and deliveries?”, lol! It was the worst pain I could have ever imagined but again, I prepared & practiced how to handle it so I didn’t even make a single sound during the entire labour and delivery-just breathing through it and it was calm & extremely empowering. I’m not saying epidurals are evil; just saying that not having them can be just as, if not more calming and beautiful with the right prep and the right person. I walked myself to the bathroom 2 hours after skin to skin and wasn’t stuck with a foley or an IV; recovery was much more smooth than what I’ve usually seen after epidurals. Also from my nursing experience I knew unmedicated births had far less chances of complications with baby’s breathing, low blood pressure, long labours, long pushing times, and chances of unplanned c-sections. It’s unfortunate Nick and Natalie were not told anything (good or bad) about epidurals before labour and it’s also sad that many people aren’t aware of how calm an unmediated birth can be. I’m so glad their experience was beautiful and I couldn’t be happier for these two sweet souls!
@greyjade5501
@greyjade5501 5 ай бұрын
@@tamedspacehonestly, your comment sounds a little self righteous. I had an epidural, and both labours were super calm and peaceful, next to no pain and I was up going to the bathroom and showering less than 2 hours after labour. There were Zero complications with either baby (or myself), wasn’t stuck with an IV walking around, and I didn’t have to deal with experiencing the worst pain of my life just to be able to come on KZfaq (and I can only assume in every other part of your life) and brag about having an unmedicated birth🙄
@tamedspace
@tamedspace 5 ай бұрын
@@greyjade5501 That was actually my very first KZfaq comment and I say this to show that if my intention was to be self-righteous and to “brag on KZfaq”, I would have taken every opportunity to share my experience and “show off about something millions of people have done 🤔”, under every epidural birth video out there for the past two years. Your experience sounds amazing, but it’s not as common for many who give birth with epidurals vs not; I know this first hand from my work in Labour & Delivery. What you and I experienced though in terms of no catheters, being mobile fast etc, is practically the norm for unmediated births and that’s what I was trying to pass in my comment. That it can be peaceful too without an epidural. I’ve seen a lot that can go left (obviously for both unmediated and medicated labours), and for medicated ones, it’s usually a cascade effect from epidurals resulting in unplanned C-sections. You don’t have to believe it; it’s my work experience. Again, I clearly mentioned that I don’t think epidurals are evil; I’d be crazy to think that knowing what they offer not just during labour but for common surgeries. I just chose a different path and it thankfully turned out well that I’m willing to share, and that’s not self-righteousness. I shared this because I know some people just have extremely negative views about giving birth unmedicated, the same way Nick explained that they had negative views about epidurals. It shouldn’t have been so for them, and if my comment can be the first time someone hears about a peaceful unmedicated birth, then great! I hope this clarifies that.

Thank you for sharing your birth story. It’s wonderful to hear you had a beautiful experience. My kids are in their 20’s and times have definitely changed with the epidural. That was very painful and I didn’t have a button to push. 😢Congratulations!

I had the same experience with epidural! No information and thought it wouldn’t work if I asked for it too early. Thanks for sharing!

I think it’s interesting the doctor said that an epidural helps with less tearing. I had 5 babies naturally no tearing and I think it’s because I could feel everything so when things felt too tight down there I could control my pushing as to not don’t much too fast. That and the help of my midwives I did not tear.

Being able to administer your epidural! That's amazing. My youngest is 21. It def was a larger needle and it did last a long time. With my oldest, it started wearing off right as I was pushing. That was horrible. No pain to feeling ripped in two! 😂 Congrats!

I'm SO incredibly happy for Natalie that she had such a movie moment meeting with her new baby, and incredible bounce back.. but I wish she would acknowledge that she's aware that's not the case for everyone.. beside the hours of waiting for delivery she told such an ideal experience about instant love, and losing the weight quickly..I feel this is very discouraging for most mothers..

Congrats you guys! River is adorable! Nat - you’re a troooper. Getting induced is sooo painful and exhausting! I am a bit frustrated for you guys that you guys were not educated or informed on all of your intervention options and what it all entails! It’s not fun going through the such a big process having no clue what’s happening! So glad River is here safe! ❤
