Welcome back to The Viall Files: Going Deeper Edition! At the beginning of the episode, we are joined by our Pop Culture Correspondent Natalie Joy to discuss Tom Sandoval’s recent lyric changes, Robert De Niro’s seventh child, and Taylor Swift dating rumors. Then, we are joined by Netflix superstar Chloe Veitch to talk about what actually went down between Georgia and Francesca on Perfect Match, the stresses of hosting the Love is Blind livestream, and her current relationship. Finally, we have a Sweating the Wedding caller who is debating calling off her wedding and breaking up with her fiancé.
“Sometimes, silence speaks volumes. She just needs to shut up.”

I’m in my 50’s. Every man I’ve ever been in a relationship with has pumped my gas, even if I paid. It’s so I don’t get cold, don’t get gas on my hands, don’t get my shoes messy. It’s act of service and respect. I did ask my son to get out and pump my gas from age 16. It’s also why men take out the trash. I appreciate the gestures!

Now, if he borrows my car, he will always top me up on gas, and wash my car before he comes home. I had an early call time for work the other day, and we were in bed, and goes “do you have gas in your car.” I said no, and he got up out of bed, went to fill up my car, so I could get that 20 min extra snooze.

In my current relationship of almost 3 years, we take turns pumping gas. It’s not really a “thing”. I don’t consider it a nuisance or an inconvenience; it’s just something people need to do. When it comes to chores, we split everything equally because we both take accountability for our home. My bf still plans special trips/dates for us, gets me flowers, etc. I also like doing sweet things for him. Even in heterosexual relationships, gendering certain acts of service seems weird to me because I personally am more comfortable when we’re supporting each other in similar ways.

My pov in regards to asking "how is your heart?" In many Muslim cultures this is the norm. When you want to ask someone how they’re doing, you ask: in Arabic, Kayf haal-ik? or, in Dari/Persian, Haal-e shomaa chetoreh? How is your "haal"? What is this haal that you inquire about? It is the transient state of one’s heart. In reality, we ask, How is your heart doing at this very moment, at this breath? When I ask, “How are you?” that is really what I want to know.

There are very few people I've seen on reality tv that I actually think are cool and respectable. Chloe is one of them.

I won’t lie…I have never thought of the pumping gas because if I’m with my husband going somewhere I’m never driving. I actually cannot think of a time where we are going somewhere and I’m driving other than on a long road trip and we’re taking turns but he will still pump gas and I’ll get snacks. My parents were and still are the same. My mom is only driving if she’s doing her own errands but otherwise it’s always my dad driving and that’s how I grew up. I’m a passenger princess LOL!! I can’t say I would give a shit either way but I’ve never had to think about it either cause he will always be driving if we’re together. It was never even a discussion when we were dating, it seemed to have just been a given. Loved this episode and love Chloe!!

My man has always got off to pump my gas without even asking , I remember I didn’t even ask him the first time he was just telling me stay in the car and he got out it did it 🥰

My boyfriend has not pumped my gas twice, we also had previously stopped for gas once in his moms car (my boyfriend was driving but his mom was in the car) and he didn’t get off to pump her gas. I blatantly asked him, “You’re not going to help your mom?” and he gets off the car, me expecting him to help her. Instead, he goes inside the gas station to buy himself a drink. Ummm I’ve been with this guy for 6 years, it’s been a conversation and I honestly don’t know if I’m making it a bigger red flag/turn off than it should be but I really don’t want to have to “train” a partner to be a gentleman. 🤢 I will say, he does do other things such as cooking food for me regularly, buys me coffee most mornings before I go to work (at the very least makes my coffee for me in the morning), helps me pack my lunch for work, washes my car, etc. So he definitely does not lack in the acts of service category, however I want ALL the chivalry 😭

I think ur making it a bigger red flag than it is only cause as u said he does other things like coffee, helping with the food etc. it’s literally okay if he doesn’t help pump gas cause if u weren’t with anyone etc u would have to do it urself anyways. Idk it would be nice for him to pump ur gas but it’s not that big of a deal :)

Nick just so you know you’re not alone!! My man and I have been together for over a year and he has not once ever let me pump my own gas. He would laugh and think I’m being silly I if I were to even try to pump my own gas when he is the car with me. 💯 chivalry still exists and I would never settle for anything less. Plus he always opens the door for me
