The difference is that those “turn off” when you close the game, vanguard is always running. The only way to “turn off” vanguard is uninstall it. So the concern with vanguard is that it has 24/7 access to anything and everything on your PC, while battle eye and easy anticheat only have it while the game is running. The other concern with vanguard is that riot won’t release the source code, because that would expose any weaknesses to hackers, which is fine. But it means no one can see what exactly it’s programmed to do. It’s all trust me bro.

And with the usage of google, amazon, facebook, etc. all that info that vanguard posably could take from me is most likely already taken by those big companies :P Dont get me wrong, I totally get the points and "fears" of vanguard and its intrusive nature but personally I just feel like it's nothing in comparition to what other apps and stuff we use today "takes" from us.

"It doesn't breach your info like other AP programs" you can't possibly know that without looking at the source code, which Riot isn't going to hand out because that would let hackers know vulnerabilities. Once you have a kernel level program installed the program can do whatever it wants to your PC. While it is nice to believe a corporation wouldn't steal your data, naive is the term I would use. The act of installing Vanguard is the same as allowing malware onto your PC, you have no control over what it can do once its running. Plus it runs 24/7 unless you stop it and restart your PC, all so I can play a video game... To me this is a massive overreaction by Riot to a small problem (at least in NA I can't remember the last time I ever saw an obvious scripter) I for one, have already uninstalled League

@@SonicDarkSnake42069 The point of this conversation was to prove that you can't trust corporations with your privacy, especially on the kernel level. Your examples clearly show that. I don't run an antivirus for this exact reason. At least there is the option to disable GPS access in Android. If I can prevent or reduce the amount of data mining and gathering that gets sent to a corporation then I will always choose that option. So far the best option with any kernel level anti-cheat is to just not play that game

Kernel level programs are always terrible and should never be allowed. And it wont actually stop cheaters if they install kernel level cheats as it can then bypass it. It affects performance and is its own security risk.
