The statements, letters and other details are on my website: symnz.com
I was pulled over on the 24th July 2015. Over a year later, I eventually, after the police deleting the video and 4 adjournments we got to trial.
PC Freeman lied and was shown to have lied in his statement and evidence in court.
As a result, the case was thrown out, after a submission of 'No Case to Answer' at half time.
PC Freeman was late to court, didn't tell the truth and acted like a cunt. The typical standards to be a Traffic Officer. I wonder how many other cases have been affected him burying the evidence.
See full details, statements, letters, etc here:
symnz.com
I will submit this to the IPCC and Professional Standards, to see what he makes of this. Police policing the Police...so, as always, nothing.
I was represented by Mr Darius of Joseph Darius in Southampton.
Follow/subscribe and I'll post updates on this when I get them.

Full disclosure: I'm a police officer. I know this is an old vid but I have to say I am with you 100%. Good job you filmed the encounter. Some officers are outright liars and others just can't admit they have made a mistake and can't handle being corrected. What a waste of time for you and the taxpayer, I'm sorry you had to go through this. Please be assured that not all police are like this, however when they are it affects the public's confidence in all of us. All the best, and always keep your camera phone handy!
@LeonSymnz
@LeonSymnz 6 жыл бұрын
Full disclosure, that's a first. ;-) But in all seriousness, you are correct. It does make people lose confidence in the police and it wasn't really intended for that, but rather to show that this particular officer is a pile of trash. There are more like him, and there are those that are there for the correct reasons...(and then there are those that are there for just taking selfies, it seems lol.) It was an absolute waste of tax payers money. What annoyed me more was when PSD and the IPCC said he simply made 'mistakes' and nothing he did was intentional (losing/deleting the video, completely wrong statement, evidence in court being contradicted by the video also and that he was LATE for court). I am of the belief that the beat bobbies are better officers than any in the traffic unit. That seems to be the opinion also of current/ex pc's. They generally say the white hat gives them small man syndrome. I'd search for the comments but there are over 4k comments now lol

Hi Jesse, well I’ve just got a file reopened after 27 years of them lying about child abuse against myself now I’ve just Gotta wait for the so-called investigation to happen. Hopefully the Bent Copper will be put behind bars. Remember this country we’ve Gotta think of freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of artistic so if they would try and do you for one thing, one ever mention them to the so-called officers, because if you turn into a performance streettheatre, they cannot do nothing about it because it is an art exhibition and art installation if they can play the bullshit game so can we

"I'd like you to point out to me what you think you have done wrong" If its that ambiguous It them gives the impression they police are indulging their own agenda and prejudices. Can you imagine asking an axe murderer or bank robber "I'd like you to point out to me what you think you have done wrong?" The police now are operating on the premise because it is to difficult (or not interested) to catch real criminals they now are criminalising people they want to or can catch. Remember that motoring offences are classed as solved crimes so gets their terribly low clear up stats up. I'd rather now live without the police (thy are a waste of tax payers money) and take my chances with the criminals, at this point in time we suffer from real crime and suffer from the people supposed to be protecting us from crime its a lose/lose. FFS we are now being prosecuted for thought crimes now.

Turns out some Bullshit community thing i signed that "supposedly" closes the debate paints me as the aggressor even though i was the one who was pulled off of my bicycle. He was able (as a police officers privilege ) to hide behind "it was a long time ago" But despite him being able to claim that he remembered it well, professional standards believed that he was just mistaken/forgot. He had it written down what happened, he saw my video before the trial, he did this for self-gain. It's no secret that they get a bonus for convictions. It's utter rubbish that he was fully protected because he wears a uniform.

I've added your vid to my fav's. On a sidenote, I got pulled and accused of being a naughty boy while I was driving on the M6. Told the officer I'd go to court. Even phoned up the ticket office to ask them to put it on written record that my intention was to challenge the claim, in court. Months went by and I heard nothing. I chased them up about it in the end. Turns out the policeman had decided not to proceed with the case LOL. I was actually a little bit dissapointed.

I'll never back down to a bully. :) PC Freeman is no exception to that. He got pretty upset when I put him in his place, as you can hear in his voice when it goes high pitched. Ah, well, with the rate that people are found guilty of silly offences like this (because courts believe officers a lot of the time) you may have been lucky. What were you accused of? Despite it being true or not, they have to prove it, and as in this case (and I'm sure, many others too), they will bend the truth to get this conviction (he bent it so far in this case, it's now a fucking roundabout!)

This might give you a smile Leon. Summer 2016, I drove from my home in north east Essex, all the way down to Weymouth (via the M3, as it happens) with a heavy kayak (PA 14, 140lbs in weight) upon my roof rack. The manufacturers weight limit for the rack is 150lbs and the manufacturers max recommended speed for driving with the roof rack loaded is 50MPH. A young (to me) copper pulled me over for driving at 50MPH on the M3, for what he called "way too long after the 50MPH speed limit that I had just left. He was insistent that I speed up to aid with keeping the traffic moving. I pointed out the details about the roof rack, the financial value alone of the kayak and what might happen to other road users if it tore the roof rack off my car whilst at speed. Not good enough. He had decided that I was obviously being an awkward fat old bastard - I'm not denying that at all - because in his view, I was deliberately causing issues on the road and slowing up traffic. When I asked him what issues, it turns out he was about 10 cars behind a lorry which had just overtaken me and he was only able to drive at a max of 56MPH. He then said that he wanted me to promise to drive at a speed not less than 65MPH where I was legally allowed to drive at 70MPH. I said I'd happily do that with an unloaded car, but NOT as things stood. He too asked me to produce my documents. I was able to give him my driving license, but not the other docs he wanted to see. I then told him that I am just the registered keeper of the car and not the owner, because I lease the car from Motability. In that lease payment in each month is the insurance, maintenance and whatever else the car may need. At that point, he began to carry on as though I had stolen the car. I pointed out that just by running the veh reg, he could track the owner, registered keeper and the state of the car for it being properly insured etc. He even tried to deny this! All in all, he kept me there for nigh on an hour. He got out of my car - I had told him that because I am disabled, I was in no way willing to get out of my car for him to speak to me, but he was welcome to get in mine to ensure I didn't drive off or anything of the like - he said he was getting out of the car to discuss things "privately with the station", where he would seek further advice as he had never heard of any company called Motability and he believed I was driving the car illegally. So he got out with my keys in hand and wandered around, talking to his shoulder. After a few minuts, he walked back to the drivers side, tossed my keys into the car and went back to his own vehicle where he just drove off without a word to me. Confused? You bet I was. So I wasted some money on my mobile phone calling 101 and explained the situation to them, what had transpired and how the bloke had just thrown my keys in via the drivers window and walked off to his car before driving away without a word. The police on the phone were confused but did confirm that the reg of the car he drove was indeed a real police car and not some scammer dressed up as a copper. They also made a note of my call, gave me a reference number to quote in the event that I get pulled over later for something similar or for driving away from the scene without "permission" to leave. They advised I wait ten minutes and if he didn't come back, then just to carry on with my journey and (most important of all) to stick to the manufacturers recommendations wih regards to load limits and max speeds for driving. Would it of hurt the pricks ego that badly to come and apologise or just to say "on your way" or whatever? If ever I wished I had something on video, this day was it!

I was pulled over last year, and had absolutely no idea why I was being stopped. In the back of their car, one of the two officers tried to assert that I was driving uninsured... er, yes I am insured mr officer, with the same insurance company I've been with for the past 12 years and have never missed a payment. Could tell that they didn't believe me, so they radio through and low and behold get the answer they didn't want - of course I was insured. So they try to get me on something else - my V5, for the car which I had only purchased a couple of months beforehand had a spelling mistake and this might be an offence. When I pointed out to them that I was hardly going to misspell my own name when giving the DVLA my details and that clearly the mistake had been by the DVLA (again!) and not me, I could almost see them start to combust in a puff of logic and fury. But the best bit? When taking my details and asking my occupation and I replied to them 'University Lecturer' and they asked 'what do you teach?', and so I truthfully told them 'Law. Specifically criminal law'... Needless to say the conversation concluded quickly and I returned to my car and drove away.

well done for taking the matter to court and challenging them and practicing your rights. A similar situation happened to myself and I had to go to court had it not been for my recording of the situation with the police officer lying through his teeth I would have lost the case. I had given his supervisor a copy of my recording and they clearly knew that the police officer was in wrong but instead, their response to me from his supervisor was this " my officer thinks that you need telling off so if you want to challenge him then go to court" so I did. he did not come to court 4 times and 5th time after the judge Heard my evidence and watched my recording told the police officer that he was wasting the taxpayers money and I did not need telling off and he should be ashamed of his behaviour.she then carried on and said to me: you are free to go Sir. My friend was given photographic evidence of her "driving offence". she was driving on a north south road at midday, where we all know the sun is at the south point. the image the police gave as evidence is on a part of the road that doesn't exist (on that road as confirmed by multiple people that know the road intimately, me included) the sun was shining from the right hand side of the car (for police sided benefit of the doubt, i will say the photo shows the sun was on the east not the west, the car was travelling north) as shown by the shadow of the car pointing to the west. If that image was actually legitimate the sun would have been behind he car and the shadow would not have been visible. it also is highly coincidental that her speed was 76 which is the minimum level for automatic prosecution and banning for the speed in a 50 zone. so not only did the evidence show a part of the road that didn't exist, it also showed the sun in a position that it couldn't have been in at the time of the offence, as i showed based on scientific sun position research. To top it all off after the case was delayed 3 times due to a "motorcycle training course" and also an injured arm on the reporting officer (that stops someone giving evidence does it?) along with the video being on a computer that had a hard drive failure and NO backup, the judge got annoyed and just threw the case out of court. Does that sound familiar to your story? lol

Good job! I had a similar argument with a police last year near embankment, he stopped me for using a mobile, which I clearly wasn’t. 1) he gives me a 3 points for using my mobile phone. 2) I refused to accept it. 3) he says I have never lost a single case at court so see in court I said the same. 4) when he couldn’t prove that I was using the phone he asks me to sign a paper he has made with his story I refused to sign it. 5) he try’s to say to me he can arrest me for driving my car with a mini cab sign at the back. Again I said mate I have child seats in my car it’s not a mini cab it’s a family car. 6) he try’s to ask me other questions like if I had paid the congestion charge or not? I said I have then he says Can I see the proof. 7) he wastes my time looking at my tyres also nothing found. You know what these police officers are just crooks. I would say these guys are assholes. Leon Symnz I don't know if they were deliberate mistakes or accidental, no idea pal. Don't know of the officer lied or if he had a bad night's sleep and was half asleep, no clue. Might be a crap copper, quite possible. I don't want you to think I was having a go or anything because I certainly wasn't. I do have a knee jerk reaction to certain comments though, I've seen how people go on a witch hunt when it comes to coppers on similar videos and it always bothers me somewhat. As I'm so used to what I percieve to be unfair and unjustified comments on these videos. I assumed this comment was one too as it's remarkably similar to what I'd come to expect. Many comments elsewhere demand an officer is fired, force is fined etc when the officer has done absolutely nothing wrong. I appreciate that the video has further details that I had initially not seen before making my comment, this was my mistake, I jumped the gun and I apologize.
@LeonSymnz
@LeonSymnz 7 жыл бұрын
Have a read of the statement and comment again. It's a 2 page statement which I see to contradict what happened and what the video shows. If I had lost out money due to this, I would have taken it as far as I could have possibly done, but the only cost was time, which I had some to spare, so it wasn't a huge loss. Also, the ads from this video has covered my costs that I may have incurred as a result of going to court several times. The main issue I have is the (what I believe to be) lies by PC Freeman. His statement, dated 4 months and a bit after the incident, which I'm sure he remembers well, considering the detail he went into.

Let my boss know & turned up at Norwich court.Traffic officer told the court that he had clocked me doing 48mph in a 40mph zone. Had no lawyer as I did not need one. Let the pillock continue until it was my turn. Produced a copy of my tachograph for that day. Magistrate did not know how to read it, so explained. At the time I was stopped, my speed for several minutes prior to the stop was 37mph. Being on the road for 46 years, learnt a lesson early - if stopped, take copy of tachograph before handing it over to transport office. :-) The law is one thing, but trusting a copper is something totally different!

Fantastic! You knew that the constable had stopped you erroneously and you stood your ground. It came across from the video that the police officer had an axe to grind. Also judicious of you to have recorded the incident especially useful as the police footage was mysteriously deleted.

I think we all know what really happened to the video... I don't know what the issue was with the officer and I had never met him before.

Update #2 - I WILL TRY TO REPLY TO EVERYONE, it may just not be instantly. (even the haters) I spoke to the chap from 'Professional Standards Department' (PSD), it was a lengthy talk but ultimately, he requires time to speak to the officer, the chap from their tech department who made a statement (which you can read, goes against the officer). Being the xmas holiday's, this is going to take a bit longer, but I expect him to conclude this by mid January.

Truth Dante I run a dashcam these days, and I always have my door locked. I had an issue where an officer tried to take my keys but luckily, it was keyless lol I don't doubt that he will pull me again, I look forward to it. Of course, I'd rather not be pulled but I'm happy to go toe to toe again.

A lot of the Rotherham episode was a mixture of target culture (sexual exploitation was not deemed a priority by Whitehall so resources went elsewhere), the demonisation of teenagers at the time (leading to a victim blaming attitude from a lot of people) and every white government employee's fear of being branded a racist. Now that sexual exploitation is in the media there's cops all over it.

@@LeonSymnz With that sort of behavior, isn't the office guilty of contempt of Court? Should the officer have been referred to the police integrity unit (or it's UK equivalent)? The officer should have been stood down IMO, especially for deliberately tampering with or deleting video evidence, unprofessional conduct, deliberately lying, entrapment (staying in overtaking lane inducing drivers to "undertake") and failure to turn up to court with evidence to present in a professional manner.

No such offence as undertaking! You can legally pass a vehicle on the left if your abiding by the speed limit. Think he needs to go back to school as doing 60 in the 3rd lane while not making progress is lane hogging, bang 3 points. Don't usually like videos of people trying to get one up on the police as they are there trying to do a job and on the whole do ok at it but in this instance good on you chap

Well done. I was in a similar position years ago, stopped as officer said I went through a red light. I hadn't. He told many lies in court. He was travelling towards lights on road I was morning on to. My solicitor requested that the Court visited the junction. Long story cut short, the lights had been out of sequence for 6 years and I was proven innocent. He also was verbally aggressive when I wouldn't accept his fine and points when he stopped me at the junction.
