The final episode of the Going North series. What an incredible journey this has been! It's a somber feeling to be finished working on these videos, but has been so rewarding and I will never forget this expedition.

"You may dream big, but you may not dream the impossible". Truer words have never been spoken Ryan. I'm sad to know the series is over and there's no more episodes of this series to wait for and look forwards to. However, when one door closes, another opens. I can't wait to see what comes next for ParklandFilms. I eagerly wait! This was life changing Ryan, thank you for having me. I will never forget this. What a memory. Cheers to you Ryan. Incredible trip and incredible re-telling through your series. I'm beyond blown away and humbled.

Thanks so much Justin! I was honestly feeling a bit sad when I finished, but you have opened my eyes and given me hope for the future, even though there is nothing planned yet. I'm so glad to have had you with me on the trip, it would not have REMOTELY been the same with anyone else. We had some real deep, meaningful conversations that will always remain with me. I sometimes wonder about what it would have been like if we had never met and I always think: "Thank God for Dead End Drive!!! (it will be ten years this summer since DED). I love what we have created here and from what people are saying, it is all so positive, uplifting and has meaning. Personally, as a filmmaker I think we have reached an ultimate goal with this series that only encourages me more!!

That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen on You Tube. I was gripped all the way through and felt very emotional again seeing the bus. All things happen for a reason. If the air strip hadn't of been occupied, you wouldn't have had the experience of the hot springs. You have shared with your viewers beautiful scenery and some scary events too. The loud backfire made me jump. What an great car. I will really miss this series but as the title says, all good things must come to an end. Please clear one thing up for me, did I really see people in brown cloaks riding on the back of buffalo? I look forward to binge watching this from the beginning to end with a cool glass of beer and a bowl of popcorn. I also look forward to your next adventure, whatever that may be. Thank you and Justin so much. Best wishes from UK fan.

You know what Alison? You are so right, we probably never would have gone to the hot springs if we camped at the airstrip. Never even thought of that, and yes things happen for a reason! No, there were no people riding the buffalo but from a distance, I didn't think they were buffalo. I thought they were monks or something! lololollolol When I lack sleep, I'm totally messed up haha!! Good to hear from someone in the UK! Have you heard of Simon Wilsons' Rat Race? Wife and I just started watching it!!! He is from the UK if you don't know, and it's on KZfaq.

Awesome series! I grew up along the Alaska highway. Wow SMALL WORLD! Amazing you could see your friends homes in that clip. Trapper Ray had the campground across the road from the hotsprings I think? We parked the car in that parking lot, walked across the highway in the dark and went to the hotsprings. The parking lot was FULL of trailers, motorhomes etc. We were quiet as mice hoping we didn't wake anyone. If you grew up along the Alaska highway, I bet you have some stories! Please share if you can!

I am Irene Iocchelli’s sister Rita Berube and would like to add my thanks for a wonderful trip down memory lane. We went to see my husband’s cousin in Whitehorse and ended up on a side trip to Skagway, Alaska. The cousin wanted to know what took us so long to get there well we stopped to see everything along the way, the biggest cinnamon buns, any and every historical park, it was advertised we went to see it. We used an old tent trailer as seniors we needed a little more comfort. The next year we went down east, avoided most big cities, went all along the coasts unfortunately we were unable to visit Newfoundland. Looking forward to joining you on other travel destinations.

Loved your Going North Series! Brought back many beautiful memories of our trip North. Watson Lake, Whitehorse, Yukon, Dawson City. Top of the World Golf Course. A Red Fox joined us on the fifth hole, followed us to the ninth. Golfed till 10:00 p.m. Looked like 7:00 p.m. in Edmonton. Went on Gredge #4 Tour. In 2006 the trees were just starting to hide the trailings from dredges (in my opinion) just devastated the the beautiful scenery, until one of the locals I spoke to told me about it being part of their heritage and the gold rush. In your series the trees looked like they hid most of the trailings. Same with the buildings. It looked like they had had so many fires, whereas we found this is what perma frost does! Very interesting! Liard Hot Springs! Gorgeous!! Thank you for a trip down memory lane!

To fulfill your dreams is important and so grateful you could share with us all. Side note. I read into the Wild and I understand all the emotion you felt and I felt along with you ... keep sharing! Thank you Ryan and Justin, I'm in the UK and hadn't even heard of Chris McCandless but will definitely be looking for the books in the library on Monday! I happened upon your series because Alex mentioned you Ryan and the roadtrip with Josh and Jakota miraculously appeared in my KZfaq dashboard!!! 😀 Going to watch that next! I'm glad I also watched Chris's sister's talk at Emary so that I have more of an understanding as to just why he did this and you're right! it does seem as if it was a need to clear his head (of the toxic behaviour of their parents). There was a tear never too far away as I watched this wonderful series so thank you both again!! 😊

Alternator went out on my Kia van. It only ran about 30 min. barely limping along. Those old cars were dependable.

Ya I had my Ford minivan have the alternator go, and it only would go for 15 minutes! Got my wife to pick me up, went home, grabbed a fully charged battery and made the ten minute drive home. Engine would not start by that time. Love the simplicity of the old cars.

Thankyou for sharing this adventure with us and showing others how beautifully vast our country is. I learnt a lot during this adventure and even though I am not mechanically inclined I love older vehicles. I look forward to whatever adventures you plan to take us on next. Perhaps you could even be a guest on Just Joshing with Jakota, or something live with them, that would cool. Thanks again, may positive energy and light always guide you with Blessings to you and your family.

You're welcome, and thank you for your kind words! Josh mentioned a while ago that he would like me to be a guest on his show. Not sure when we will do that but I look forward to it! I'm also thinking of doing a live Q&A on my channel sometime in the near future.

Such an epic journey. I'm sad the series is over but stoked that I can watch it all over again. It has made me laugh, cry and feel awed/inspired by the beauty of the scenery. The performance of the old Mercury really was amazing. For cars I've watched on the small screen and fell in love with, the Meteor ranks right up there by the General Lee. It brought back memories of the cars I learned to drive on, though Dad's old beaters were never particularly safe. Every drive was an adventure in those because we didn't know what would stop working next: brakes, gas gauge, headlights, wipers, the steering? That DC-3 weather vane was awesome. The airline I currently work for traces back to Canadian Pacific. I wish we could turn our next 737-200 that retires into a weather vane. Maybe you could help pitch that idea to EIA? lol Thank you so very, very much for sharing this adventure. 💗

AliKat thank you! I'm humbled by your comments. I've also previously had cars when I was young that were lemons and I learned a lot about fixing stuff because I couldn't pay anyone else to do it. Cool that you work at YEG!! Good to hear from another local, if you are in the Stony Plain area, you just might see the Meteor driving around!

You can be so proud of you i am very grateful for this. Especially that you kept it entertaining with going for a challenge. Well the other tensiv moments were not chosen by you haha. I will most definitely recommend this to everyone i know I hope there is more of this coming Stay safe Sorry for bad english, i wont reread this

Curious to know what your trip tools and parts inventory looked like.
@ParklandFilms
@ParklandFilms 4 жыл бұрын
For parts/tools, I brought an extra set of points, a tire plug kit, one jackstand, some basic hand tools including a socket set and wrenches, 12volt compressor. Brand new spare tire, there were other things I can't remember at the moment. Nothing too major. This might be worth doing a short episode later... Thanks Rick!
