With the bulk of the structural work complete, I now enter the section of the cabin renovations where I get to test my design and decorating skills. Weathered wood goes on the walls, I explore the area's wildlife, and try a new trail camera.

This is exactly I did my rough cedar walls in my tiny cabin I'm building at almost 65. I like the rough cedar and it's individual boards, not shiplap.

Your cabin is gorgeous!!! I love how you stained the wood. You're going to love the stove this winter. I have a large log cabin and have a smaller one that is about ,1560 Sq ft. There's nothing more serene than a warm night in a cabin.

I love the weathered wood look and your tips on getting rid of black mold safely.✨ It wouldn’t be a Slim Potatohead video without nature, so I’m very glad to see trail camera footage. Still rustic and cabin style but it does not look like it will fall down on your head anytime soon. Nice. You'll be warm and dry and the ants won't be in the walls eating them anymore. Well done. And what a budget!!!!! You're keeping your travel money safe by making do the way our grandparents did. That generation knew how to reduce, reuse and recycle, eh? It's really fun to see it change from week to week. Thanks for letting us snoopervise. And for Pete's sake - use whatever hammer does the job YOU want it to do!!!!

Looks like my basement! We bought a sling of old weathered wood and have used it for tons of home projects. My favourite being the basement family room. Walls and ceiling are lovely rough weathered wood. Cabin is looking great, SP!

Hat's off to ya @SlimPotatohead . Gotta laugh at ALL the people that just said Bulldoze or Burn it down & start fresh. So Glad that you didn't & that you Saved as much as the old stuff as you could & reusing. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. Snow should be starting to fall up there pretty soon so hopefully you'll be able to acquire some extra things that people don't need anymore being set out by the road. One persons trash is another persons treasure. Nothing like getting a pre seasoned grill, lighting, sink & bookcases for free next to the road. I find Before dark day before & around Sunrise day of garbage pickup is best days for freebies. ps Those were some nice nails your neighbor gave ya.

I think the wood stove was plenty far from the wall to cause any issues. But putting up a barrier will also help radiate the heat out so you can't go wrong anyway you go! Love the turkeys!
