As space worthy warships, all the designs of both Earth and Mars lack point defense weapons or weapons in general underneath the ships.

It was expected. Or at least it should've been . Almost every cod campaign is pretty decent. Just because something is futuristic doesn't mean it instantly sucks lmao.

This is one of my favorite missions in infinite warfare I like being able to explore the sdf ships and I really like taking a look at the sdf soldiers they got cool uniforms

why is the ship so heavily guarded doesn't seem right

They've got 3 HVIs aboard, the three you go in to kill. Thats a LOT of command and control in one place. Plus, its a big ship. The vessels in this game are based on real world naval vessels (space navy), and by that merrit, these ships are actually fairly barren in terms of crew.
