An old snow sledding hill that’s been used for generation. If you haven’t made a video metal detecting an old sledding hill you should.. especially since your in Colorado, you’ve probably got ills with generations of stuff buried in the hill.

Oh but my coolest unexpected find was while digging a fence post hole. 18 inches down I found an 1857 quarter. They discovered gold here locally in 1862. So I imagine an ol’miner probably lost it during that era. It’s one of the most minted coins of its time. I was pulling out dirt from the hole and noticed an oddly shaped rock in the side. Wasn’t a rock :) Oh oh, that and an old 3.5 inch cannon ball in a mining cut once too. It dates from the civil war. They had lots of left over cannon balls and for a long time miners would buy them because they were cheaper than milling balls. They used them in tumblers to crush ore. They wore out quicker but the cost made up for it. Super cool history I learned after finding it and asking questions about why I would find a cannon ball here.

about 30 yrs ago: I found a Platinum Ring, and a 22 kt Necklace with pendant, I paid $2.50 CAD for the ring, and $1.50 for the Necklace (it had a broken clasp), and I paid $25 for a ‎Giorgio Armani suit (that fit me like it was made for me) all from the North Vancouver (BC Canada) Salvation Army thrift store on Lonsdale Ave.

That is Awesome! I once found a 20 dollar bill on a road just 5 blocks or so from my house! :) Since then though I have only found maybe 2 quarters, a dime, a nickel and a handful of pennies combined in the following decade or so. I am impressed about a 100 dollar bill though! :)

In the '80s I found $100 bill at the cart racks at Kroger. My mom snatched it and said put it up quick, she would split it. She bought us food for $80 and gave me $10 and my sister $10. I was bummed. What I owe my mom now I'd be embarrassed to see. That memory reminds me of our struggle and to appreciate where we are and what my own family has now.

Really nice ,I remember when NYC dredged out Prospect Park Lake in Brooklyn ( 1863-1871)...................I lived in the area where they dumped the slop spoils in the 1970's silver coins from 100 years + just washed out ....Not many people bothered with it because little was known about the project.......What a score.......

I watched a documentary about folk in India doing this & smelting the dust & debris into smallish looking nuggets to turn into cash just for day to day survival ..seemed like an extremely big effort for such little money. I’m sure it all took place at night after they’d been working all day at their actual manual Job which was pretty grim, long hours, low paid often 6/7 days a week & not having enough to survive so had to think of extra stuff to bring in rest of money required for the bare basics and no more ……. I go for 5-mile walks around the block by my house when it's fairly cool & dry out. One time while I was negotiating the shoulder on the side of the road, when I happen to look down and caught a glimpse of something golden. I reached down and picked it up. What I saw was the tip of an 8K gold bracelet (marked 333 on clasp). It weighed about 4-5 grams. The ring was broken on it, which is probably why the bracelet was on the ground. I always find coins all over the place, especially at intersections and drive through windows. This was the Second time I've found actual gold. The first time was a 14K gold ring buried in the ground behind my sister's house downtown. It was cut, probably stolen long ago since I have found lots of empty purses and other things thrown over the fence onto her property.

Let's see, we go to the entrance door from the inside; turn over the open sign, lock the front door and go out through the repair shop in the back of the store, exit ,lock climb into the auto and leave. More fund in the back. I know, been there. Always check the back. Everything goes out the backdoor. Floor sweepings, things stuck to your shoes,.....:) Anyway great video! Have a big treasure i'm working on but can't find anyone to trust. This one goes back 100's of years.

Not a bad haul for a half a glove full of dirt!! I'm impressed & just dubbed 😁 I always look down when I'm walking, esp in the city. People drop things, expensive things, all the time. I've found a lot and have also lost a lot of my own possessions. I imagine someone else was happy finding them, lol. When I walk with my friend, I always tell him to scan the ground for little treasures as he walks, though he's the kind that can't chew gum and walk at the same time, so looking down is a bit of a challenge for him. More for me!! 😂

I used to scrounge the easy way as a casino dealer. Almost everyone wearing fine jewelry I would compliment them on their jewelry while telling them "if it's ever for sale look me up". And many looked me up for that offer. Where I was known as the Jeweler by my new nickname. I made a fortune at this. Because I knew exactly what a Pawnshop would offer. And my offer was always a bit higher than the pawnshops offers. And it didn't take long before my jewelery gold & Sliver sideline to out pace and become more lucrative than my casino job. What a scam I had going. It was easier than highbanking

I’m in Rome Georgia you just showed up in my feed today. Your New York sidewalk video. That was really cool. I subscribed, too interesting not to.

I wanted to see the reaction of TSA when you tried to go through airport security with the glove full of dirt! :-)

I learned my lesson and now ship all dirt / materials through the mail instead of bringing it on the plane.

I love how he said the first time it rains all the gold will sink to the bottom. only problem with that in Vegas is... they get only around 2" of rain annually. so there is rarely a rain that would be hard enough to sink the gold down.

That’s cool I wish I would have known you were there because I was there at the same time and stayed at Mandalay Bay . It would have been cool to help you out . I would have bought you a broom and pick just for the experience. Great video Mr Klesh !
