Love the way they portrayed this song. Apparently they used the colour scheme from the movie posters that used black white and touches of gold. Plus a vintage art deco design for the "room". Kirstie's belting in this is phenomenal...and yes, Scott vocals are way better than Bradley's.

In every song they do a cover of they always pay some sort of homage to the original and in this one it is the black and white and the bright touches of gold. LOVE, Love, love Mitch's solo part and the gritty growl at the end of it is just .....EPIC! Kirstie's belting is unparalleled. And one can Never say enough about Kevin and his talents. If Matt and Scott weren't in the mix you would just lose the whole foundation of the song. These five multitalented people have done SO MUCH in their music careers that no other group or band can come close to the boundaries and levels they have broken and reset. They are truly one in a million!! The only bar they have yet to break and reset is the one of "time". How long can they keep the group together and how long can they keep making astounding music without crashing and burning out. Only "Time" will tell. I wish them ALL the best and God bless them as well. LONG LIVE PENTATONIX !!!

Floor Jansen of Nightwish has covered this song on a show in the Netherlands called Beste Zangers... Pentatonix has done the best cover (upgrade) I've heard so far though.

The harmonies and chord progression they did at 7:28 was a nod to lady Gaga's song Bad Romance. Every choice they make is deliberate. Just a small thing but if you have a music ear you can hear it. They even did the same thing way back when they were on the sing off. Threw in a tiny bit from a boys to men song on one of their arrangements since one of the judges was a member of Boys to Men. It was only a few notes but enough for shawn stockman to notice.

The color scheme in the video is a nod to the movie posters. They were all done in black-and-white photography, with the only color on them being the gold lettering of the title, A Star Is Born. I thought it was interesting that Matt took the low musical line, rather then Kevin's cello. Often when a cello plays it is the lowest musical tone that you hear, but in this case Kevin stayed up just a bit and Matt took the bass line. There's even a spot (about 7:10 in your reaction video, right where Kevin starts beatboxing) where Kevin has stopped playing, and if you aren't careful, you'll still hear the cello playing - because Matt sounds so much like a cello, it's a little weird!

You should react to more live versions. In recent years, PTX has had some performances professionally recorded for pay-per-view streaming, and fans have captured excerpts. Also fans' concert video quality gets better every year. The 2022 Hollywood Bowl concert has some really good live performances; the concert was kind of a 10-year retrospective, so a lot of their biggest songs are included. And there are a lot of fan videos from last year's world tour.

I heard Bradley Cooper was very nervous and hesitant about singing because he knew that he was maybe a really good amateur. That might be a paraphrase but you get the point

I haven’t seen this version of the movie, but of course I’ve heard the song. I love how passionate they can be when the occasion calls for it, as they also were in Say Something. And, as someone who was a photographer for a short time, I would love to know how they single out the gold accents. I suppose it’s a technology thing, which wasn’t even a gleam in someone’s eye back when I was actively shooting. If you’re also a film buff, the Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristoferson version of A Star is Born is also worth watching. Loved your reaction! Peace …

They do such a great job with this one! As others have mentioned, the coloring is a nod to the original cover of the soundtrack and movie posters. If you listen carefully, there's a very brief riff from "Bad Romance" thrown in there as a nod to Lady Gaga (it's at 7:27 or so on your video). I'm not sure how much input PTX puts into their video designs; maybe some of the other fans know. I have a feeling they hire a videographer and let them do their thing, though I'm sure there are discussions and PTX can veto anything they aren't comfortable with.
