Hey Guys, Dan Here. Today I am out at the Chewton goldfields hunting the mullock heaps and checking out some of the mines and other relics left behind by the old timers. I hope you enjoy. Rock & Ore's Website - www.rockandore.com/

Chimneys, scorpions, mineshafts, digging to China and tough, annoying tree roots. From the outside people must wonder why we do this. It's hard to explain the feeling that comes from being out there. Treading the paths of the old timers and rediscovering things lost to time. Its satisfying playing detective and piecing together elements of the past. Trying to understand the daily lives of miners long gone, lost to a harder, more trying age. Also a bit of gold from time to time sweetens the whole day. AI'm looking forward to the magnet fishing. I've alwaye wondered whats down there but am too terrified to shine a torch down haha.

Thanks mate, very well said. I live in a great area for gold history and it is really nice to share a bit of that with you awesome people. I will include more of this type of stuff in future vids. I think the magnet fishing should be a bit of fun. Do you have any vids coming in the near future?

@@DunkyandtheRav3n Yeah I will try to add more of that type of content into future vids. I know what you mean with life being busy for sure, we have 6 kiddies at home aged between 2 and 20 and we home school. It's gunna be a friggen hot summer and getting out prospecting can be hard work. I look forward to seeing you guys out having some fun and scoring some nice colour to sweeten the deal. Take it easy mate.

@Rock & Ore With 6 kiddos it's impressive that you have ANY time for yourself. Family is always the number one priority so you just gotta do what you gotta do, my hats off to you two. You aren't wrong about this summer, I'm already dreading it. 30 degree day yesterday felt much hotter than it should have. I feel like it's going to be one of those blistering white hot sun, baked red earth, scorched rock, summers. Hopefully the shiny shows up better in all that sun 😁

@@DunkyandtheRav3n Yep, I reckon you are spot on about this summer mate. Last summer I tried a bit of night detecting with a head torch but I had to eat way too many bugs attracted by the light. I'm gunna have to break out the big hat and just tough it out. I'm thinking sluicing and panning is the go so we can at least splash around in the water.
