This reminds me of that show Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire. That dude was broke and not a millionaire at all. I knew something wasn't right with Gerry. I hope Theresa doesn't go through with the marriage. He picked her after he learned of her profession, and she seemed more into him than he was into her.

It was a red flag to me when he said he hadn’t dated since his wife died but I ignored that because I enjoyed the show. I’m not surprised the producers picked him because they are very very predictable with the men they pick (stereotypical chiseled jawline, broad shoulders, blonde or brown haired handsome white man). They probably just liked his look and didn’t thoroughly verify his stories.

It's sad that all those ladies fell for a fraud and a pathological liar.

I read that the burger restaurant went into bankruptcy and had to be sold. His wife started working at John Deere (when the youngest child was 1-2 years old) for the next 25 years. Toni's job would have been critical for the family's health insurance in addition to income. She retired from the next job after 10 years when she and Gerry were eligible for Medicare. One of Gerry's lies was that the restaurant provided well for his family.

His eye's just lit up when he heard Theresa talking about her career and I saw the $$$ signs just floating above his head and he was very ready to choose her right after that conversation.

His over the top romancing and love bombing was completely understandable. He was playing for the camera, which he was supposed to be. When he started throwing out the L word with the crocodile tears, ect. though, it came of as blatant insincerity. Now we find out about his lies and disgusting behavior!! I ended up in a 9 month relationship with the same type of person. I was THE one, he was madly in love. I consider myself to be a smart savvy woman and he sure fooled me. His attraction was for the widow of a surgeon. In the end he told me I didn’t have the money or at least wasn’t wiling to spend it on the lifestyle he wanted 🤷‍♀️After me he dated and got engaged to two women. The first decided after a year she didn’t want to fund his retirement and the second one he wooed, got engaged and married within months. Both are wealthy widows. Time will tell. I definitely dodged a major bullet!

He had her cremated.This is far fetched but Ethylene Glycol poisoning causes what she died from. I wonder how much life insurance she had. Why are we surprised by this? The Bachelor franchise does this all the time. Also, I think we (the viewers) inferred a lot of stuff onto his narrative as well. None of this really bothers me though. I know plenty of people who retired from their "real jobs", but kept working after retirement to supplement their incomes. They just didn't want to be the boss/have the stressful career anymore. It sounds like that's what he did after he sold his restaurant and was waiting for his wife to retire. As for his dating life, he did an interview with People magazine before the show started and said he had dated a little bit since his wife died, but it never worked out. He essentially said he realized he wasn't ready to date, eventhough he thought he was. And I also remember a moment on the show when one of the women was talking to him about dating and asked him if he had signed up for any dating apps and he said he had. And it makes sense - it's a fact that widowers remarry faster and more often than widows, so I'm not surprised he jumped into that first relationship so quickly. Even the sex question, I don't recall him specifically saying he hasn't had sex since his wife died. I recall him saying it had been awhile, and that's subjective. Nevertheless, I'd still get a prenup (and a will) if I was Teresa, just to make sure whatever I was planning to lesve my kids and grand kids gets to them😂😂😂

This is a reality show but the show as well as Gerry made the world think he was grieving his beloved wife and had been alone since his wife died. He met one of the women only 1 month after Toni died and were living together in I believe a year. Outrageous! I think more is going to come out. There are two kinds of abusive men, the one that physically, the other a perfect acting male, who will emotionally/mentally abuse. The latter is worst. When one finds out you don’t know what hit you!

Sorry I missed this live. I read about his bs on a thread on reddit which seemed to come from a reliable source. I don't think he is that broken up over his wife. This came from someone that worked with him. While he was married he was let go because he was chasing a woman @ work. Allegedly. This was over the summer on reddit. He likes Theresa for $$$$$. Gerry's Dad picked Leslie, and said he didn’t care for Theresa. Apparently Theresa rubbed him the wrong. His Dad seemed very sincere! I liked the show until I read the Hollywood Reporter article. I honestly believe that Gerry and Theresa are perfect for each other. Theresa wants a good looking man, because she is physically insecure. She is very smart and savy, which is very appealing to Gerry, who wants a succesful woman with money. They are both legends in their own mind, and milking their 15 minutes of fame for every dime. I don't see love or chemistry here, just two buisness partners reaping the financial rewards of fame. The Golden Bachelor organization, presented a squeaky clean image to the public, which is not the same person in private. I feel people were bamboozled.Yes he looks good, but when you peel the layers, you see something not so nice.
