I have been buying wrecked motorcycles and fixing them as a hobby, then I donate them to veterans charities. This winter I decided to try to custom paint a tank and fenders on an Indian Scout. If I can add an old school tip, you can add a little bronzing powder in your glue that won't affect the leaf, but you'll be able to see where you sprayed the glue.

I've been painting on and off for 15yrs, recently got into pin stripe and leaf. I'd agree leafing is one of the most delicate and tricky effects... I live your videos, thanks for making them.

Except for airbrushing leather and fabric for about 5 years, I've never painted graphics on a hard surface. I think I'll practice on a piece of glass that way it can be cleaned off easily with a blade so I can practice again. I'll probably try it on bottles to figure out how to spin it on tubing. I'll probably end up experimenting like I did with my leather. I'll be trying some sizing on a pinstripe brush for sure.🖌

May I suggest that, when you use the roller to hug it tighter. Consider using a piece of the paper the gold came on.. Just a suggestion. Other than that. GREAT videoes! You have an awesome talent!

ive been custom painting guitars for 20yrs doing the gilding thng not to long but i will say this the leafing or metal that you get from the craft store kinda sucks along with thier sizing or glue. i am building a miniture 70 firebird dash for my brother with gauge fronts and all iam gonna install a clock but his dash on his firebird was a 400 dash so it was engine turned alum but iam thinking of doing chrome foil vinyl and turn it but have found out not the esiest thing to do and it fiol not vinyl its foil w adhesive, but not maybe i should just buy a 4ft long piece already done. lol
