thanks for posting the old folks. We always think we look like the pros when we are out there, but then there's the truth. But at least we are still upright, and having fun! So easy to see errors, so hard not to keep making themself.

Thank you for making and sharing these. May not be as exciting to some but for the older crowd it helps in evaluating what our own skill level and the competition looks like. Enjoyed watching these fine players compete.

Definitely more a 3.5 level. Some good shots, but the type of errors they make is the telling blow.

The "wrong server / wrong receiver" fault actually started at 19:37 when the "first server" on the far court RECEIVED the serve on the even side with a score of 5. They played for the next minute and a half stacked in "wrong receiver" position. It was only identified by the referee when the far side "first server" served after a side out...from the even side...with a score of 5.

Hard to believe that these are 4.0 players. I play at 3.5 70+ and these players would have a tough time playing against players in this skill level.

The reality is that this game is so easy to "master" that any of thousands of players at every age group are at about the same level once you're put in a few months of regular play. This is a game, not a sport

@@oldrealist9328 Same can be said for tennis. After 6 months of lessons I was beating people with years of experience. Tennis not a sport? How old are you? 90?

I just started PB at 78 - I love it, but I have a tennis background, so that helps. My understanding of the US rules are that no spin is allowed on serve - both these men are doing it!

Spin can only be added when the ball connects with the paddle. I don't see either of these men breaking the rule.

If it is a drop serve, they can make contact anyway they want.

4.0 with foot faults, short serves and no one seemingly able to hit a consistent drop shot. I gotta go to FL and play.

These teams are not close to being top tournament 70 year olds. There are 80 year olds playing that are better players than these four.

Players are tired for sure. Amazed, losing team makes it to the gold metal match. Another side to these bigger tournaments is $$$ money. I am thinking $3000-4000. per tournement if out of state.

absolutely illegal, not only upward motion - but his contact point is well above his belly button, and the top of the paddle is above his wrist on contact - so he hit the trifecta - every single rule violated! but they really dont call the serve rules - and in my experience if you are playing and call someone for an illegal serve - they throw a hissy fit - even though almost always they don't even know the rules they violated - doesn't matter, they will yell and scream and whine - know the rules you clowns - and play with integrity! I for one am really glad that all of that goes away next year with only drop serves being allowed

The Ref was WRONG to call incorrect server at 20:53 .. the (LH) male server was began serving 14:13 (start of 2nd game) from the Deuce court and was still correctly serving at 20:53 .. Referee hooked them.. Ref caused his female partner to then serve from the wrong (Deuce) court.. she should have served from the Ad court.. Ref caused the side out because he confused them.. REF IS BLIND..Buy him some glasses

QUESTION from a newer player.... Isn't dropping the ball ON the court to serve considered a "fault"?? Seems odd....rule is vague at best...

It only matters that the server has at least one foot on the ground (off of the court) and no feet on the court at the time the paddle meets the ball for the serve. Where the ball bounces does not matter.

So u are judging it's no fun to watch based on a 70+ match? Would you say it's fun watching 70+ tennis players? Have you watched pickleball pros like AL Waters and Ben Johns play?
