Not a dumb question. Ive been watching these for about 3 1/2 years, and also go prospecting. But in those years, i have read many comments and there is a large percentage of people that have anxiety and other ailments, and many find these videos very helpful. You are not alone.

Got some paydirt off ebay. No name said gold added. When I got it I found it was Goldn Paydirt. Luckily I got it cheap becasue gold content sucked. Also it was concrete sand with gold added to it. Hardly any black sand or magnetics in it at all. PLayed myself but did get some gold and fun panning. I found a piece of Mica in the paydirt and after looking very close realized it was not gold but had no idea what it was. Now I know. you teach me more every video.

Hey Shane, if the paydirt’s “dirt” originated in Roaring Camp, my guess is that what you described as mica (schist) was probably pyrite.

This is so funny because I won this exact same bag of paydirt in a raffle from the May GCTS (Gold Country Treasure Seekers) meeting and I got pretty much the same poor results but it took me a lot longer to pan than it took you.

@Klesh Yes, this area is very beautiful, and I love driving up from Fremont for the meetings in Placerville. Lots of renewed interest in gold prospecting because of the flood gold this year.

@@Kleshif you get up to roaring camp it's pretty much dig and process as much as you like. An interesting place, the river runs cold. If you're up top by the wall to the left was the tent where the gold bags were being assembled. From what I hear the pay dirt is raw with a hint of gold added. The cost per bag is for the panning entertainment not gold $ return on investment.

What is the hole size difference between the 20 mesh and the normal kitchen strainer? It seems quite close.

Not much however the kitchen strainer is flexible and is not going to be exact

5 years ago, we were under 20 trillion dollars in debt. Today we are at 32 trillion, so the US dollar is now worth around only 2/3rds to back then. Imagine in 10 years from now when we are at 50 trillion in debt

While I understand that the property owners make the rules, it still doesn't feel good when I'm paying more per month than I'd pay for a house, and I get little notices about what needs to be improved.

@@Klesh that's exactly what it is man! These days to many people are born sweep picking lol. It has changed the definition of a "guitarist" but the fact you can play a guitar with more than 6 strings and play in time and cover a song at all. Puts you in the top half of guitarist for sure. So take that to heart man. No regrets I always say I'm the best at what I can do say for the human race

LOL.... first of all you have no clue on how to clean Roaring Camp dirt....since it has a high content of clay the dirt needs to be cleaned thoroughly before you even try to pan it... so that little water tray you have will not doing it..... you're losing gold..
