the bucket is really good for just going to the creek and throwing in shovels of rocks and dirt. just bring a flower watering pale to fill up and wet the material, throw the big stuff away and add another shovel. then obviously classify your cups after or save them up for the end of the day.

I really like it has EVERYTHING you need (with a folding shovel) that fits inside the bucket, always ready to go. Easy to store and carry, especially if you have any sort of hike. And it does catch the small gold. You would find it struggles to keep the pace you are used to (have to dump in LOTS of water), it doesn't like mostly-sand/dirt material, but handles gravel like a champ. Definitely has it's place in the arsenal. Always in the back of my vehicle, and can rob the snuffer or magnet or pan or scoop or shovel when I forget my regular out sluicing (needed each of those at least once!). Oh, and that lid IS made for sitting on, makes a great stool in the field.

I bought one of these last year, tried it for the first time with Kyle Thiemann. I found the use of the collection cup and larger bucket to be a burden. When out and about, I set the funnel in my Garrett super sluice pan and go at it! Once finished panning I turn the cons to the Royal miller table. Makes classifying a little faster. It does not like clay though...
@Klesh

Cool idea putting it directly onto your pan. As long as it balances there no reason it shouldn't work!
@gorillapup3387

KleshGuitars legs stand just on the outside of the bottom and you can fill your pan as much as you want. Give it a try, you might prefer it over using the bucket and collection cup. Ive also seen videos of people who mounted an electric water pump on to the top of the funnel. Love your videos, keep it up man!

I was getting worried for a second we wouldn't see "lets get it into a pan". I'm so glad you put that in there. Love your videos man! If you are interested, I have some sand/gravel material that I have been panning from a creek in MI. Sometimes I find some flour gold and garnets, other times I don't. I would be interested in sending you a sample.

Cool review, That bucket is intriguing. I think I would rather have a sluice box though. Very generous of the person who sent you the bucket and the pay dirt supplier who sent you free gold. Thats always a great thing! Take care and happy hunting!

5 yrs later I'm watching reviews after 3 years of prospecting. I ordered one cuz they had a great deal at the gpaa store. Figured I'd try it be fun for the kids to use I think pretty fool proof. Haha. Kids show no interest in the hobby but maybe they'll like this . Good video. Seen a old guy smoking a cigarette with a electric pump shooting water in and him just chilling running his buckets through it on a river bank haha. Thought that was pretty cool.

Good morning my friend. I hope everything is going great with you. I've seen a massive improvement on health since finding a new doctor. A chiropractor of all people! Looking forward to getting out prospecting in a couple of weeks on an exploration in Northern Minnesota. I think you'll know what I'm searching for if you look around Martin Landing. From there I'll be celebrating my wife and I's 12th anniversary then out your direction and to the north for an extended camping and prospecting adventure.

Could you run the test again but with seeded pay dirt added to say a bucket of actual river dirt with rocks and all. I want to see if you lose gold and at which point does amount of dirt in the collection container affect the amount of gold lost. It would have to mixed in well with the regular dirt.

interesting idea in the bucket.it worked better then I expected..the black gold pan however is a thumbs down..I personally hate black gold pans (panning without being able to see the magnetite is difficult and slow)...The little shovel I would break the first day...lol....the very last big part you take out with the gray feet--I would break that in the first day as well...The paydirt you received was packaged extremely well..

I think it works better if you leave the bucket up a little bit if you leave it right down in the Tupperware as the water fills up it washes right through the bottom of the bucket I don’t know if that matters too much but it always made me feel better to prop the nugget bucket up a little higher

we have one and we use it with the kids...dude our kids can use a toothpick to tear down a telephone pole and be chewing on the toothpick and no pole left to be seen! The nugget bucket is awesome. Grab some local kids and drag em to the creeks with you and have a blast, one to agitate the trays, one to pour water and you can get another one to do the digging. :-) Another trick we found is run some extra water thru to get off the lights and it washes away the blondes quicker. Have a blast man!

Interesting Con-Trap-tion , I once drew up an idea for a shovel that had a deep basin and a classifier on top. with a hallow handle to tip out the trapped material. The physics allow many interesting and new ideas but it's hard to perfect any system. Excellent video as always.

I've read about this thing and it does get good reviews overall. Seems like it would be great if you needed a compact setup to get in a hard to reach area. Shane, I would like to see you take this thing out in the real world and run it through its paces with alot more material. Compare it to the old school classifying and panning method and see which works out better.

You really need to do a on site run video. I mean it is set up to gather concentrate. Buy running concentrate I do not think it was a very good review. Also buy not having the rocks in the bottom collection tray , you did not let the fluid bed do its job. I would like to see you run it out on a creek, I think it will get gold, but will it catch the tiny flour gold on the creeks by you. Of course you will need to run the tails in a different system to see what it left, so a double work day to really test it.

bodge6886 it may be gimmicky if you have a dredge and $1000 worth of equipment but for a hobbiest or an amateur this works wonders to get some good gold on a weekend.

KleshGuitars I've been looking for a nice starter kit to play around with and I've also been watching Doc the gold hog KZfaq channels and some of his products what is your recommendations? I am originally from West Virginia but I have been in northeast Pennsylvania by Lake Winola just outside of Scranton for 3 years now. Not that I need any new hobbies but this looks pretty interesting along with the wing metal-detecting like you do. I am into collecting old coins and have a very good selection and I fly drones among other things.

KleshGuitars also where did you find your backpack that actually holds and fits your 5-gallon buckets

Its just a bucket for 5 bucks and two sifters for 20 bucks and a little pan for 20 bucks in one set everything cost around 45 dollars but selling price of goldrush bucket shit is 120 dollars !!!!! I will buy double of equipment for this price enough for two people to have fun prospecting . So at the end waste of money bucket.

Good point, and the only thing you'd need to fabricate would be the funnel piece that the classifiers sit on. With a few hours of work (or if you know a fabricator) you can have one made out of metal for possibly the same amount of money, if the fabricator is a good friend! Or even better yet, if you own a fabrication shop it might only take a few hours of work to make one. If you just wanted a plastic one like the one they give you, I'm sure a few tubes of JB weld and a funnel and a couple more hours of trial and error, you can probably cobble something together. I'd rather just pay the $ but that's just me. Thanks for watching
