Really like your technique, with your muck scoop and unclassified pan, its exactly what i’m doing too, straight into it and process fast as possible for production came in fast, you wanna be sure you not loose much time on testing, love it! I dont see much video of prospector doing mining straight, processing volume than stick on testing, keep doing hard work! It is great! Really like big setup like this when youre sure it worth processing on a larger scale, personally i’m sticking to the pan, on a production scales, i’m classifying 1/8 in a bucket, when full reducing to blacksand and throw it in supercon, and keep steady 6-8 pan in a row to empty one bucket still doing 18-20 bucket this way, could go even faster depending how the material could be cleaned, my recipe is to bring captain morgan in the creek 😆no more back breaking with him hahahhaha, one technique I really like is to throw water on the gravel bank and throw away larger rock, it self cassifying then rest of material is likely fine to an inch saving ya few more bucket, likr throwing water on a gravel bank it loose everything, saving every effort with hardpack material! Hardrock it is in many way, the cost effective mining method over placer gold, a bucket give you grams of clean gold , on one of my property a bucket give 10-18g of gold, its thousands of pan on a placer gold, worth any chiseling smash for a bucket than process cubic yard of gravel its soo much easier😊

I dont set myself up to dump oversized or tailings in particular spots for any future deposits to work in my favour if that's what you mean Ziggy? Too hard to predict the future floods. Would you need anything more than a Miners Right to use a trommel? Is this on what they call a Granted Mining Tenement? I am thinking of building a trommel at my local Men's Shed to "Lend out".
@TheGoldmansChannel6 ай бұрын
These rules vary state to state in Australia. But in my state of Victoria, the only real requirement for prospectors with the basic miners right is to only use manual means of excavation. Meaning hand tools only, no big machinery to dig the product out. Provided I dig out all of my material with a pick and shovel, I can then load it into a 100t/hr washplant with a 30t loader if I so choose. I guess the rule is just there to limit the amount of damage any individual can cause to the environment without applying for a mining or prospecting lease and having to pay a refundable bond to the mining regulator.

Is there a difference in yield between the crushing plant and just the trommel? I don't know how that works, but it would make sense, I think.
@TheGoldmansChannel6 ай бұрын
Apples and oranges. Crushing plant is designed for breaking up gold that is caught up inside of an ore, typically a quartz reef in my case. But crushers can also be used to obliterate ancient conglomerated material also. We used a large impact mill to crush up the alluvial gravles from 180' below the surface when I was mining up north for example. The alluvial deposit was very very old and all of the rocks essentially cemented together, making the material almost impossible to just wash the gold off. So crushing to a powder was essential for full recovery.

Good question mate. The answer is simply, then I would always have to be set up really close to the river. Pumps can only lift water 1m or so, but can push the water approx 30m above themselves. So I can put my pump on the creek and have my trommel way up the hill in the diggings if I want to. 😁

You mustn't: use digging equipment besides non-mechanical hand tools use explosives remove or damage trees or shrubs disturb any Aboriginal places or objects , or disturb any historic place or object, or archaeological site or relic. To care for the environment when prospecting: drive only on public tracks and roads park only on the roadside avoid disturbing plants and grasses too much fix things before you leave, i.e. fill in holes, pick up your rubbish

And save yourself a fine as your on the limits.....
@TheGoldmansChannel6 ай бұрын
Great to see another Patrol man on here, especially a Q series owner! I also really appreciate you politely requesting I change my methods here to reduce the silt and discolouration of the creek. Good on you for being a gentleman about it. Where possible, I absolutely try and do what you mentioned. Just to give a bit of context on this location though, the only fish in this water way are dirty old eels and I'm not concerned for their well-being at all to be quite frank. I'm also the only one that pumps water from this creek for approx another 5kms down stream. So it's in my interest to keep it nice and clean if possible, but seen as I'm the only affected party, it really doesn't matter legally or morally 😁
