Letter Ladies have a mission..... hike to hillside letters and soak in hot springs.
Just south of Salmon, Idaho is the trailhead for the Goldbug Hot Springs. This is an all natural hot springs that Letter Ladies Martha, Rena and Dawn had on their radar.
*** IMPORTANT *** Hot springs, especially natural hot springs, are an incredible treat. Mother Nature's gift to humankind. It is extremely important to respect these natural wonders. Treat natural hot springs with the utmost respect and care. Please, just be good people out there when visiting natural hot springs. OK, done with my rant!
The hike to Goldbug Hot Springs starts on private property, up a rather steep hill. Not a long hill, just kind of a steep hill. After passing through a gate, you will start on a very well traveled trail. These hot springs are in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, which is beautiful in its own right.
The hike is about 2 miles long, steep at the beginning, and steep at the end. But well worth it. On the way up, the Letter Ladies passed 58 people as they made their way out of the hot springs and down the trail to the trailhead. So, by the time the Ladies made it to the Goldbug Hot Springs, they were practically the only people there! Such luck!
