Grandma is totally correct. My guess is that Theresa woke up, and realized that she allowed her overwhelming emotions get the better of her judgement, and went along with this rushed marriage. Having lived more than 4 decades as an adult with a whole range of different experiences, it’s more incumbent on every one to be have more self awareness, and good judgement as we age. That’s precisely what the golden years represent. This idea of throwing caution to the wind, and deciding on a marriage, when you have come out of a heady bubble, was so foolhardy, words fail me. Once one of them came back down to earth, all the realities of their lives became more daunting, or one or both of them, knew that the marriage would not work. They needed more time to truly evaluate all of their real life challenges, before taking vows.

Watching Grandma is more entertaining than watching the whole season of The Golden Bachelor! She’s so brutally honest! lol Love it!

I think Theresa woke up and saw the truth and decided it wasn't for her. He looked more unhappy about it than she did. So glad she insisted on a pre-nup!

Theresa was very much over it during the interview. She wasn't emotional or sad at all while Gerry seemed to get teary eyed. Remember they both know how to be married cause they were each married for decades. Something else was wrong.

This show is an insult to marriage and to grown women. Out of curiosity I watched the first 15 minutes of it and was disgusted by it. We women don't need to compete for a man who is at best ... 'meh' .... he got his ego stroked and some money out of the deal and so did the show's producers, at the expense of several vulnerable women making fools of themselves for their children and grandchildren to watch.

It was very obvious he was going for Leslie until the conversations with Theresa and his discovery that she's well off AND extremely savvy in finance. They still 'love each other' for the cameras! IMO, I think the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise is a publicity/marketing ploy for the pure means of show biz profit, with some rare couples that actually did/do fall in love for real. So, I side along with Grandma's opinion, which aligned with mine, when she thought awhile back that Gerry & Theresa's marriage wasn't going to last. I, too, am surprised that their marriage ended much earlier than what we anticipated it!

I knew when I saw them on the Dear Shandy podcast, I could see his frustration towards Teresa because she was still working and not being together as he imagined, imo he is not the easiest man to live with and maybe Theresa realized quickly that is why she did not want to quit her job and be with him.

I agree with you Grandma. I think Theresa was all in and Gerry was so fake. All that crying and I just feel he was putting on an act the entire time. I agree holding hands and saying they are both going to go out and find love and that they still love each other is a lie. I think Theresa saw the real Gerry after spending time with him and they just didn't click anymore. She likes to eat healthy, and he doesn't. She exercises and I think he plays pickleball. When she visited him in Indiana they went out to bars and met all his friends. I don't think that is Theresa's lifestyle. Plus, he wanted her to quit her job in the interview at his house and she made a face implying, dream on. And I don't trust him and possibly he is seeing someone else, but Theresa would not reveal something like that. Very few couples on the Bachelor ever make it to marriage or longevity. So, what's new.

Surprised yes, I was. But I also feel he was a quiet narcissist and I also feel at times she could be a little hardheaded. He was constantly letting them know what they wanted to hear but underneath it all he had ulterior motives no doubt, narcissistic people eventually get their way. I feel he should’ve never been on the show he’s probably got three or four different girlfriends, that’s how he comes across, good looking, tall, tan ,basically a really really good salesman. but I do feel sorry for her she truly came across as a homebody, I didn’t care for her, but I feel bad….

Grandma is right, this is all nonsense. I think Teresa was invested in the relationship, him, not so much. He seemed as if was acting, and not doing so convincingly. They should have worked out their living location before the wedding. If they were truly committed their families would have supported them living anywhere. If you are committed to a marriage you find the compromise, commitment overcomes location in my opinion, you move for the right person. This was a mismatch.

If you truly love each other, you will find a way to be with each other & work to find logistics that work out for both to see their families. They could sell the house & buy condos or smaller houses in both places where their families live & split their time between both locations. I find it hard to believe that you would give up after only 3 months of marriage. I suspect there is another reason as to why they are divorcing.
