I'm just sitting here binging on all your fig tasting videos. Awesome stuff! Just curious where you're located to get all your figs to ripen so well?

Hi Mike, Glad you're enjoying the videos. I am located in Northern California, Roseville, which is close to Sacramento. Figs grow well here for the most part, but not always. Sometimes in California, we get hit with dirty fig wasps or the dreaded black fig fly. The videos show the best of the bunch I have, so not all of them ripen well. I chalk it up to the weather. I could say maybe fertilizing...but I'm not very consistent with the products I use or the timely manner in which I fertilize them. I'm sure if I were more diligent about fertilizing or pruning or a number of other things, I'd probably have better crops. About 99% of my trees are in pots, I'm betting if they were in-ground it would be much better. I consider you more of an expert than me, I've watched your videos since starting my collection and tried a lot of your suggestions or propagating cuttings. Great instructions. But still, I suck at propagating.

@@FigginAwesome-ox4zt Nothing in nature works out perfectly 100% of the time, and I have plenty of failures too. I do really appreciate your videos though. They give me a glimpse of how nice the figs could be if I'd just find a way to get them started earlier and give them more heat. Your figs really do look fantastic! It's interesting to hear about the black fig fly and fig wasps affecting your figs. We never see those problems up here so I don't consider them when thinking about California grown. So you've got fig flies and I've got a short growing season. We each have our struggles, lol. Thanks for letting me know the location. I love Northern California. If there was another place I'd want to live, that part of the country is on my short list. The mendocino coast area would be a dream place to live but I'm sure it's very expensive. Anyway, good chatting and keep up the great work!

@@MikeKincaid79 It's expensive to live in California...but not sure if you've heard. Harvey from Figaholics is selling his place in Isleton, CA...he is retiriing and the property comes with all his figs, chestnuts, etc. Just throwing it out there.

@@FigginAwesome-ox4zt Oh wow, I thought I'd heard something about him retiring. That would be a dream place to buy. I'm sure it won't go cheap.
