It’s incredible how a dog smell is powerful. On each occasion, she never leaves the spot because she knows. Always comes back to same spot. Animals are just absolute awesome beings. Love them and always will.❤

My mom had a golden retriever named Casey. For some reason, he didn't like to play fetch with toys but could fetch humans. I would visit my mom on the weekends and would sometimes hide to get some peace and quiet. The vent in the kitchen could be heard in the attic. I heard her tell him to find me and hid in the closet. He bee-lined it straight to me with no deviations. There was no place I could hide from that dog. I miss that doggo. He was so quirky and the cuddliest doggo!

What's amazing is that their whole house smells like them and the dog can filter that out for their exact scent

🥲 💜 Growing up, we had our precious Joey who absolutely L💙VED to play hide and seek. He was part retriever, collie, and German shepherd. Such a beautiful boy. 💚 He would hide his eyes and snout under the couch cushion while one person would count to 10. The other person would hide somewhere in our four bedroom house. He would ALWAYS find us ! 😊 He was so intelligent and jolly. He lived to be 16 years old. We had to say goodbye when I was 18 ... on the day of my first final as a senior. It was a very difficult time for our family for quite a while following his passing. I miss that lovely boy with all of my heart. I am ever grateful for the INCREDIBLE love and laughter he imparted. 🥲 🙏🏽

The best dog I ever had just ignored any toy I got her. Hide and seek was the only game she would play and she loved it. The funniest time was when I ran into the room and stood right next to a really tall speaker I had and watched her run through the room and right past me 3 times before she finally used her nose and saw me.

I had a german shepherd whom my mum taught to find a sock around the house with some herbs in it. She started very close to the kitchen where he would come in but then put it further and further away to where he could find it, not only anywhere in the house but in the front yard too ! He would have made a great drug police dog :) :)

Adorable. This is good ,it encourages him to use his very strong and sensitive senses and brilliant t having him look up because he does have the scent and knows he does..

"Find" was our dog's favourite game. And then one day, our neighbours' toddler wandered out of the house. They knew he was still in the area, but didn't know where. They brought our dog a shirt of his, we repeated his name to her while she sniffed the shirt, and then we said " go find!". And she did. Within a few minutes. He had gone to a family friend, and she tracked him to the building. Fun game, but also a useful skill.

I used to practically P my pants waiting behind my louvered closet door calling for my dog who can’t figure out where the hell I am. This would go on for a good 15 minutes or so and I would just be dying trying not to laugh one of my most favorite experiences with my puppy dog.

I played hide and seek with my dogs for years, even at 13 my chihuahua was up for the game. She died at 14. Her sister stopped playing when she died. So many great memories of the dogs finding me.

I'm doing this all the time with my shih tzu. Mostly i'm hiding her toys, but sometimes i see good chance to hide myself too. Her nose works so good😅

We love to play hide and seek with our dog, too. He finds us everywhere except under the blanket. That seems to be very difficult because the smells stays under the blanket, too, and cannot escape. But he's getting better at it. ❤😂 It's very funny to observe that our dog first tries to go by sight (laziness is a thing) and by experience. At the beginning, he always checked known hiding spaces first before actually trusting his nose and starting to search.

I figured this would be manufactured. But the fact that she looks for one of them while the other films right behind her seems to indicate that she is playing. Usually dogs are pretty happy if both humans are home as long as one is in the same room as them. This was really cool.

Goldens love to play hide and seek. Our boy Murphy gets such a kick out of it, we throw a blanket over his head and go, "Where's Murphy?". He's now 5 but will start circling at the sight of any blanket. Such a special breed, completely biased.
