For all of you stuck hanging at the end: they put the dog down, because he had lost too much blood and they couldn't do anything to fix it. I've seen the full episode so I know what happens :(

They are just dogs!! Doesn’t matter how much we love them...if your dog dies today and next weekend we bring you another puppy as gift you will be happy...you don’t do that with humans!!

It is so aggravating to watch these little snippets and never find out what was really wrong with these animals. Can't you just finish them at least with the answer to all the questions instead of letting us hang in the air?

Well we arent going to because the show is an hour long per episode do they really expect us to look through an hours worth just for this clip? No thank you. Id rather watch a full episode whenever they upload one. Which seems like they upload one per month

I'm a dog owner and know in my heart that the last best thing you can do for your dog is to stop their suffering. But I've got a large dog that's almost 15... I'm always going to hope for just a few more years with her.

This comment may not be particularly fair, given that I'm a veterinarian myself. But it always boggles my mind that owners don't *look* at their pets properly. Not noticing that a dog's gums are paled out to absolute white? To me that's just ridiculous. My mother, who had no formal training of any sort in medicine, veterinary or otherwise, always gave our dogs and cats a weekly once-over just to see if anything was out of the ordinary. If the animals were off their food, or quieter than usual on a particular day, they got a once-over as well. Thanks to this, many of our pets avoided major problems because they were caught early. When I was in veterinary school, the first thing they taught us in clinic? "More in medicine is missed by not *looking* rather than not *knowing*." That rings true to my ears.

My golden mix died from a heart attack a few years ago. I did mouth to nose and everything. I knew he wasn't good for a long time, as he would go hide. And I knew enough to look at his gums. But it was so subtle and over many years. The only time I really thought about it was when we got a puppy after his passing and her gums were so pink.

Agree. I watch my cat’s eating and toilet habits daily. It was brought down by the way my mom took care of her pets. You learned to watch them daily to ensure to catch anything before it becomes serious.

Oh my gosh, this is exactly what happened to my Golden.... I’m traumatized all over again. I lost her two years ago, and it’s still very painful

Lost my golden this way too. Splenic Hemangiosarcoma. Vessel ruptured and my boy died in mere minutes. Vet said he lost his dog to this as well, and he was IN THE CLINIC WITH HIM. Nothing can stop it. I pray cancer just goes away and that one day I’ll see my boy again.

That's not always a good sign. My old dog would flinch slightly every time we took him for his jabs. The last time we took him to the vets was obviously to put him to sleep and they had to put a cathater in his leg so they could anaesthetise him. Didn't, flinch, didn't blink, didn't move a muscle because he was either in a lot of pain already or he was very numb - he was pale as well...

My dog had the same symptoms as this dog yet she was half this dogs age. We never found out what she had and was hoping to see a full clip so maybe I could pinpoint symptoms and maybe get an idea of what my poor Cleo was suffering from.....

I've gone thru this with too many of my goldens. I'm guessing the dog had hemangiosarcoma and is having a bleed out. Fast acting cancer but they will sometimes Reabsorb the blood in a lot of cases and can do so for awhile with bleed out episodes but eventually die or a major Bleed out and die. Either way it is agonizing for dog and for owner. So sad...

I think this is what happened to my golden (just passed 2 year anniversary on April 2). He was fine one day then started getting lethargic and not eating and within hours we had to rush him to the vet to be put to sleep. One of the most traumatic experiences of my life thus far, seeing him bleed internally :,(

my cat lost a lot of blood a while ago. his name is billy, he's fine now though. I didn't even spot it until he had lost quite a lot of blood. well, he brought in a dead rat, and there was blood on the floor so I just assumed it was off the rat. but I came down the next morning, and there was more blood there. I checked my cat, and he had quite a bad wound on his leg and a not so bad one behind his ear. now, one thing about my cat. he is huge, he's not fat he's just got a lot of muscle. and he's got quite long fur too, so that's most likely why I didn't spot it. so, I just wiped his leg, wrapped some tissues around it, put a bit of tape around it to hold it in place, and checked on it about 2 hours later, expecting the blood to of stopped. but no, it was still bleeding so I took him to the vet. he stayed there over night, came back with stitches and they said if it had gone undetected for another day, he would of died. they think he got in a fight with another cat over the dead rat. or maybe a dog, considering the wounds. I don't think any other cat would stand up to him, so dog is the most reasonable answer.

My dog had to be put down after losing a lot of blood. Something in his stomach/kidney burst (can't remember which as that whole day was a blur) and he rapidly lost color everywhere. I'll never forget the sinking feeling as he just kept getting more and more lethargic. Now I check my other dogs gums, eyes, everything any time they even so much as sneeze because dogs don't tell you. they can't tell you. you have to be paying attention

It's so very sad when you lose a dog. I've lost three cats, and six minutes of schnauzers so hard oh, but you love them with all your heart and gave them a good life with so many wonderful memories to keep. Take a lot of pictures of your babies.

I check my three dog’s capillary reflex on their gums every day, even the puppy. Even as a little kid I always did that. Do most dog owners not know how to check that and check their eyes? If this was caught earlier they probably could have saved him.

Look not everyone knows how to check properly and not everyone can think the same on what to do. Some pet parents may know right away and some don’t there isn’t no manual that people can get that tells them because anything can be wrong!! And when it comes to the pet maybe they don’t want to be touched they can bite you, hide from you, and avoid you at all cost because they could be in pain or feel depressed so please think of the other possible solutions.

Really wish this didn't cut off. I love animals and hate to see them sick. Hope this beautiful dog got a second chance! Wanted to be a Vet but thanks to my dad, I am allergic to everything. In defiance I have poodles and give to rescues! If you can't give money, give food, give old dog toys and beds, blankets, etc. Anything helps!

Oh god. This is what happened to my golden retriever on Wednesday. She ended up dying of a cancerous tumor, leukemia and internal bleeding.

My dog Lucy:French mastiff, died because of her hip, she didn't eat until i saw her, then on Monday she looked into my dads eyes and dead she didn't even go to the vet to you know get put down she just well died and burned alive we still have her ashes! But I'm still sad... 😢

top comment has the answer, he was put down because he'd lost so much blood and there was nothing that could be done and glancing around comments someone mentioned their own golden retriever had a similar cause of death, hemangiosarcoma is the big word for it, a fast acting cancer that the old dog likely had for more then a little while(it causes bleeding episodes, the dog can however reabsorb enough blood to survive an episode or 3)

Lack of red blood cells means decreased ability to carry oxygen around the body, through the veins. When the dog breathes, the air travels to the lungs, where it travels into the blood stream and from there it is carried around the body, and absorbed by muscles for instance. Without red blood cells, the oxygen can't be transported
