It looks like Horlicks just needed a constant companion and having another pet in the house who would provide unconditional nonstop company was the right solution. Glad Horlicks and Hero are happy together.

I love when people get a pet for their pet. I have a dog-walking client who recently let me know she's going to be getting her dog a puppy soon. I'm thrilled, because her boy absolutely loves every other dog in the world. He thinks every dog is going to be his best buddy and he wants all of them to play with him all the time. I've been hoping his mom would get him a friend for awhile. He's gonna have a happiness overload when a new baby shows up, and I can't wait!

Despite animals living in a loving home with humans whom adore them, many pets would hugely benefit from the presence of another animal (which doesn't even need to be of the same species) especially if the humans go out to work. These loving humans recognised this immediately with their beloved pup and brought in a most adorable and playful companion/playmate for him. They get along fantastically, each being perfect for the other, and to see this gorgeous kitty initiate play or snuggles with the pup is lovely.

Super happy Horlicks has a brother to look after him. My dog Riley had separation anxiety as well a combination of family love and getting another animal that he could interact with helped him out. Horlicks will do well and seeing him and Hero play is so great.

Dogs with separation anxiety often do well if they can focus their attention on something else. My eldest cousin has a rescue dog, Kaya, who had some pretty severe separation anxiety. She would start whining and crying if my cousin was just upstairs and could still hear her and call back. We were on a weekend away with the whole extended family on my dad's side, and at some point a few people, including my cousin, were going on a boating trip that unfortunately didn't allow dogs. Me and one of my aunts opted out of going, so the dog wasn't left home alone. However, I don't even think they were gone fifteen minutes before Kaya started whining. We tried to comfort her, but she was still sad. At some point I got the idea to just take her for a walk instead, so I put her harness on, and as soon as we left the door and started walking, she immediately perked back up, even playing fetch with me. We got back inside after a bit, and within two minutes she was crying again, so I just took her back out until we saw the cars with the other family members come back, at which point she was more than happy to run back with me.

Omg, I laughed when their mom said she left them alone for a half an hour bc it sounds outrageous, but I understand 100%. As someone who has a rescue that formerly had severe separation anxiety to the point of injuring himself to the point of bleeding, I understand that even 30 mins of your dog being ok when you're not there is such a relief.

These animal stories from Dodo, always get me. At first, I kinda didnt like them, bc it seemed like the owners just wanted views, but its changed my view. There are still good pure people out there EVERYWHERE, not just here. I've seen these videos from every part of the world and its amazing, bc were all the same. We want love and to be loved, man or animal.

I had the same situation with my Golden. Got him a kitty and they are so good for and to each other. Much easier than 2 dogs.
