A look at the flow or reactionary offense from the 2014-15 NBA Champions Golden State Warriors. A large amount of their offense is based off of reads and screening for each other with dribble hand offs built in from big to guards.

It is nice knowing the Warriors although not as polished as the Spurs were still able to win a championship in there first year under a new offence.

If you break down their offense, they can score in many different ways. They can do the trade off and throw it to bogut or the first hand off can take it and attack depending on how the defense responds. Also, you always have the weak side to skip to if the defense is coming in to far to help.

Amazing, a lot of dribble hand offs and towards the end there was some triangle action going on too

The warriors offense is heavily inspired by the triangle. Which makes sense since Steve Kerr won 3 championships playing in the trianlge with mj, pippen, etc under phil jackson

Dallas ran this sort of Miami action the last 2 years with Rick Carlisle. I’m hoping he can bring this to the pacers.

coach, what are your thoughts on when 5 man is denied at the top of the key or elbow area in this flow offense? what would your solution be? Also it seems that when the handler gives the ball to the wing he then looks for the 5 man to get into their flow - what if ball can not be entered to wing or trigger man at the top of the key? thanks

Flow offense Coaches and smart folk. Question. What is the warriors and Coach Kerr’s philosophy when it comes to on-ball screens in the ‘flow offense’ they run (not sets- just their motion stuff) Is it only the 5 for their star players? Is it after a certain amount of passes? There must be rules for it as I know he prefers the ball movement style of pin downs, dho and post splits. Anyone got a clue what those reads/rules and philosophy would be?

***** the Mavs have similar early dribble hand off action, but there early screens are usually double drag action with both bigs. Golden State uses guards screening for each other.
