Sixth and last mission from Pheonarx, the finale of his series.
Really well detailed landscape, dynamic footsteps, and AI that can shoot you from above, something that wasn't seen in GoldenEye before as far as I know. Definitely one of the best custom levels on the Vault.
This is being played through with an emulator and a 60FPS patch, mouse & keyboard controls and with increased FOV.

This is what started it all, I am now working in the industry and going to college. Thank you everyone for enjoying the mission, this mission is what got me on the path to where I am now. I love all of you, and I'll be releasing a "remastered" version of all my levels in one pack very soon. I just wanted to thank all the fans and critics, my life's dream to be a creative is coming true and without you all I feel like I wouldn't of gone after it. I’ve been on a Goldeneye custom level KZfaq binge the past few days and this level is the best I’ve seen so far. The spoken dialogue, selection of weapons, varied terrain, and cool map layout are all on point! You have a natural talent my friend. I’m so happy you’re putting it to use by going to school for it. 05:28 What?! A functioning bridge? That was incredibly clever. I give that a solid applause all by itself. Definitely up there among the absolute best custom missions for GE thus far. Nice level design, with some fun throwbacks to Surface and Bunker. The power outage and cave-in were also well executed. Pheonarx... I salute your efforts. Awesome work.

I’ve seen quite a few custom GE levels and this is by far the best I’ve seen. The dialog, changes in music, and level design are superb. Well done.

so the rom would work on an everdrive ? !!! how does the editor work ? does it have a limiter on how detailed a map can be ?

Yeah, it works perfectly fine on the EverDrive-64. The Editor doesn't have any limit aside of the default engine limits, if you respect those and don't abuse emulation inaccuracies, your ROM will work on console.

Man, I love the outro of this level so much, the plot twist back there and some parts of Standoff as well - dunno if's connected but yeah Definitely a top 5 hardest levels I've played along with Standoff in the same complied. I was challenged by my brother who's a big fan of you for a long time to speedrun it, took me TWO WEEKS to get a decent time; it could be harder if the initial guards had ARs and ZMGs and the Hazmat team with RCPs/Lasers/Magnums lol but that's insane, I've got that part on Standoof* lmao *Yeah, Standoof cuz that level is hard ack

I loved the elements of surprise, like the power failure and the neurotoxin leak, but the rest of the level felt unnecessarily enormous and textureless. Amazing work, nonetheless!

The footsteps sound on the snow are really loud and obnoxious to hear everytime especially with bonds walking speed. Don't get me wrong I like the little realism it brings but it would be nice to turn the volume down on that, otherwise great level and awesome corny voice overs lol

I feel that way about walking in most games unless its really really quiet. Yes it obviously makes noise but in real life your mind tunes it out in comparison with other sounds. This just forces it into your consciousness.

Yeah, GoldenEye isn't the sort of game that should have footsteps. I actually recall reading that footstep sounds *were* intended to be in the original game, but the developers scrapped it. No surprise why.

No, they have the default health and the black commando ones have a little more. Headshots kill instantly in all difficulties to generic guards.

The black guards on Train have armor, which makes them immune to slappers and a few shots at first. Yellow guys are default but have quick reaction time.

It's just a visual trick, a model animated to go down and removing the collision so you can walk normally through the bridge's clipping.

The geometry is made on 3D programs like Blender, 3ds Max, XSI or others. The setup itself (Objectives, scripts, logic, guard placement, etc...) is made in the GoldenEye Setup Editor. It's a long and tedious process as it's not too intuitive.

Yeah, you can make the geometry there. Pheonarx used it for most of his levels, but they need a lot of optimizing when porting them to GE64 as the model exports from Hammer have a lot of unoptimized subdivisions.

They're mods for the original game, most can be played on real hardware too through an EverDrive-64 or similar. I've left a tutorial in the description for both the emulator (mouse & keyboard and 60FPS) and installing mods.

All the required links are in the description. They're made with the GoldenEye Setup Editor and several other programs such as Blender for the level geometry.
