NOVA Scale Novelty - While we are post Union monster, this is the first time I can remember the game making a whole archetype of monsters built around this mechanic that were supposed to mesh like this. It even pushed the boundaries by letting you equip AND summon during the same turn, giving you the speed you needed to use these monsters as Tuners, or to just keep them equipped to provide their utility effects. While the Winged Beast half may not have kept pace with the Dragon half, the idea is still pretty cool. 4/5 Objectivity - Our big payoffs can be annoying to deal with, but as more answers have been printed, the less of an impact. And with our generic Synchro Omni Negates being culled, we have less to build an unbreakable board with. There is still some annoying tactics where you can lock out the Extra Deck with Leyvatin equipping Dragon Buster Destruction Sword, but even Snake Eye can answer that with Flamberge, so... 4/5 Versatility - While a majority of our cards don't care what path we go down one way or the other, several of our newer cards make sure to specify that we can ONLY use them for Dragunity, or at the very least Dragon monsters, so our options are a bit limited. But thankfully, Dragons have a LOT of support you can lean on, so even with our restrictions, you have a lot of options to lean on. 3/5 Awesomeness - The Dragon part is good. The Knight, not so much. Of all the Winged Beasts, only one or two even feel worth it to run, and honestly, it's the same for the dragons. It all boils down to Phalanx, Couse and Remus load up our Tuner count, while Senatus gets the ball rolling, to say nothing of the fact that the only mid level Dragunity Knights worth playing are the ones that equip so you can continue to synchro climb, and maybe Gae Dearg. Bulg, Trident and Luin all superfluous, with a lot of our power coming from outside the theme. Maybe all the fans are seeing something I'm not, but when I have a roster of Dragon Knights at my disposal, I want them to be front and center, not playing back up. 2/5 Total: 13/20 Thanks for reading! LET'S GOOOOOO, one of my favourite archetypes! Legionnaire + Aklys was my go-to combo back when I didn't have any of the Synchros, and it was always fun to watch my friends groan when I searched either one with Ravine. The artwork on Dragunity Legion might be one of my favourite card arts ever, seeing all those Synchros charging forward is so cool.

I only found your channel a few weeks ago but I enjoy your archetype content over theduellogs archetype content because you show how every archetype can be helped and work with other decks (even if it’ll be a rough time) over explaining why everything in a archetype failed. Keep up the great work.

Dragunity has been my favorite archetype ever since i first saw the structure deck back when it came out. The goofy mental image of the big dragons like Leyvaten just picking up one of the smaller dragons to whack the enemy with has kept me loving this deck even during the days when the Dragon Rulers got Dragon Ravine banned. (We will never forget. We will never forgive. The Dragunity Knights do not serve the false monarch, Tempest!) My favorite is Vajrayana. My favorite move is summon Aklys who summons and equips to Militum, who then resummons Aklys from the backrow, then synchro into Vajrayana, who equips Aklys, then sends Aklys back to the GY to double it's attack while also triggering Aklys' destruction to blast the one monster the opponent has and then going for 3800 to their face! I also like this move thematically because Vajrayana is Militum riding a larger Aklys so it's like the canon sequence for these cards or something.

Woo! My main deck is getting its time in the golden spotlight! I’ve loved this deck ever since its support wave in 2020, and it’s the deck that I’ve had the most success with. I’ve used the mentioned climb to Areadbhair several times, and since it takes exactly 5 summons, if your opponent tries to Nibiru it, you can just negate it and reenact the Dragon Ascent cutscene from ORAS’s delta episode! Though speaking from experience, if you do summon Areadbhair on the first turn, make sure to summon it in defense mode to protect it from Lightning Storm. Also I completely agree with your disdain for this deck being abused by dragon link. I mean, sure I use a shortened version of the main first-turn Remus combo to get out Spheres, Crystal Wing and Areadbhair, but if dragon link doesn’t get checked soon, the pure players will probably suffer. Overall, this was a great video, Nova.

TL;DR - Inferno Reckless Summon is the greatest card of all time. Dragunity has been one of my favourite decks ever since I figured out I could make Red Nova Dragon with just a 3-card combo that's so simple it barely counts as one. This was in the Zexal World Duel Carnival game, hence why it seemed like a big deal to me at the time. The first part is flexible, it just needs to end with Phalanx in grave as you summon Arma Mystletainn from hand. But as I did it, I would normal summon Phalanx, send it to GY to summon Arma Mystletainn and equip the Phalanx, summon Phalanx by its own effect and upon that summon trigger Inferno Reckless Summon (completely underrated card btw) to get the other two copies of Phalanx. Then you just synch one of them with Mystletainn for RDA, and then it and the remaining two for a 5000 atk synchro that your opponent ain't hitting with Bottomless, Mirror Force,Dark Hole, etc. Again,this was years ago. Not nearly so impressive now ofc, but it made a big impression on me at the time.

My Endymion, elemental/mask hero and my war rock/infernoble/assault mode decks are my favorite decks to use hell I combined them and created a Endymion and masked hero deck with colossal fighter and his assault mode as an engine for the battle phase. Literally my favorite decks to use but I've always loved dragunity since their first structure deck and until late 2022 I started actively using them and continue to this day. I more focused on the synchro side of it as it's my favorite type of summoning but use 3 link monsters and the rank 10 railcanon for a ftk/otk when have the three level 10s on the feild after the battle phase.

Used to play dragunity deck waaaaay back in the day, I've been thinking about getting the (kinda) recent support for it. Now I will XD

Pilum is a thrown weapon and those are classics for attack directly (or similar like Junk archer temp banishes) cards.

Surprised Blackwing Zephyros the Elite wasn't mentioned as a tech card. It's perfect for discarding, giving you back Dragon Ravine so you can use it again and using Zephyros as materials for Synchro/Link summons.

Lore-related comment: The art of Winds Over the Ice Barrier implies that the Dragunity's, or at least Ascalon, WERE involved in the resealing of the Ice Barrier Dragons at the end of Age 1. Personally, I like to think that Areadbhair assisted Prior in the FIRST sealing of the IBDs, while Ascalon helped the Spirit of Prior reseal them later.

Dragunity Mastery is great with Off-theme monsters so they could benefit from having Dragunity equip cards.

You can also tech in Kash to go into arsenal falcon detach get senatus discard a dragunity card and get into your synchro plays you have to normal summon riseheart and unicorn is the perfect small world target.

If I had a penny for every time Dragunity cards were usurped for a undying meta dragon pile, I'd have 2 pennies. Which isn't a lot, but it's annoying that it happened twice. But yea, this was my favorite deck back in the 5D's days, and I still have a huge soft spot for them, since my little boi Exa is one of them!
