Goldie Hawn is getting honest about the reason she never married her longtime love, Kurt Russell. In a new interview with CNN's Chris Wallace, the "Snatched" star explained why they chose to not become husband and wife despite being together for nearly 40 years. "When it doesn't work out, it ends up to be big business," she said. “Somebody actually has to take a look and say, ‘How many divorces actually are fun? How many divorces actually don’t cost money? How many divorces actually make you hate the person more than you did before? How many divorces have hurt children?’” The pair, who have been together since 1983 share one son, Wyatt, together and have a blended family with Russell's eldest son, Boston, and Goldie's kids, Oliver and Kate Hudson.

She's not wrong though at all.. You don't have to be married if you don't want too and they know what works for them and their's nothing wrong with that.. I'm so happy that they don't let themselves feel pressured about getting married

A lot of it is too far complicated to explain, but when it comes to assets, there are a lot of rules on taxing and etc when it comes to who inherits what, and that is ultimately why people do marriage and legal paperwork.

Most states don't recognize common law marriages.

You're right about the common law marriage depending on what state you are legally registered in. I live in NC and we don't recognize common law marriages and it doesn't matter how long you've been together. They do take into account anything you have acquired over the years like, homes or businesses you started together as a couple but, I think that's true in any situation.

I call b.s. He NEVER ASKED her. If he did she'd jump at the offer. She makes up nonsense excuses no one believes. Society says honor one another with the respect of marriage. They are both afraid. 2 people in love ALWAYS marry.

Why the f*** does it matter?? I'm ALL for it and I'm here for it! They're both in a long-term relationship, they're happy and it works for them! I fully support and agree with the choice of having a long-term relationship WITHOUT the marriage part! Marriage doesn't work for everyone and it shouldn't have to either! Everyone isn't marriage material and they shouldn't have to be either! Everyone doesn't want, doesn't need and is unfit to be married! Had they gotten married, it would've ruined everything!

of all the questions that she could have been asked, this is what he comes up with ? This is not what the viewers are wondering when they watch this interview. This woman is award winning director, writer, actress. She has been in the business for many years, she has worked with the best, she has kept herself and her personal business out of the tabloids, she has contributed to how we educate our children and those are all things I want to hear her talk about. What a disrespect to ask her, on a prime time interview tv show, about her personal life. This woman is a genius, is accomplished and successful in everything she has done. That is what I want to know about.
