Too bad Goldust was everyone punching bag 🎒 and couldn't win matches holding Booker T back
@johnjly5295
@johnjly5295 7 ай бұрын
@@Bullet730 Booker always said that "Goldie" was helping him as creative had nothing for either of them so when they were told to do the skits they both were pretty much getting paid to be at home. They were used as comic relief which Booker in the same interview had said was fun to do and gave him time to fish and relax. So when they didn't shoot vignettes or wrestle(rare occasion) they got to take care of themselves (gold dust had been in recovery and through a divorce at this time hence his lack of screen time)

Dustin should be in the Hall Of Fame for the simple fact that he was given a career death sentence with a like Gold Dust (I think of others who got career ending characters like Perry Saturn and the mop). But Dustin Rhodes did the impossible and showed how talented he was by not just pulling it off but elevated his career. Anyone can pull off a bad ass character but to do what he did with Gold Dust was next level. Also props to Hurricane Helmsley for (to a lesser degree) for pulling off what seemed like a DOA character.🎉❤
@WutTheDeuceGaming
@WutTheDeuceGaming 6 ай бұрын
Career death sentence? He was given that character in his prime and was given free reign to do what he wanted to do with it. That character was not a death sentence, it was by far his best gimmick and by far the most interesting and memorable character he's ever played. A death sentence persona doesn't survive 17 years, let alone the initial 4 years. He honestly could not have played that character without the gold facepaint and attire. It's what made his acting so great because it paired so well with his off the wall personality. One doesn't survive without the other.

I love to see the videos where Taker is fighting for his life to not laugh haha!! You expect it from everyone, but Taker's make my day.

Kudos to Dustin Rhodes for talking this character, which could've killed all credibility he had as a wrestler, and turning it into literal comedy gold and still achieving success.

"Corp-rat, damnit, corp-rat." I wouldn't be able to hold it either! 😂 HHH just gave up and threw the laughing in there as part of the gig instead of trying to hold back his laughter and be serious.

These guys weren't breaking character, they were comedic selling.

The only one that EVER made Undertaker break. Tajiri and Regal went close but Goldust actually made it! ❤ LEGEND! ❤

Its so cool that you see his dad in a clip like this and cracking a smile. Considering the era that man grew up in he could've completely hated the direction they had dustin go in.

They did hate it. It was just that they were professionals, and his son built an iconic character out of a terrible gimmick. He actually left the WWF(E) and went to WCW to get away from having to play gold dust. It was when he returned to the character that he made it into a popular gimmick.
