Ive been looking for this for a while, were those Alabama plates on that wing? Supposedly this is my late friend Tony Hopkins, he found this and he showed me before he recently passed about 8 months ago. He was laughing his ass off showing us this, he only had one eye too.... he was in his mid 70s and could throw down better than any of the squid kids in town on a GL1800...

He only crossed the double yellow where he could see far enough down the road to know for sure that there wasn't an on coming car. You know... the little zigs and zags... Cars do it too. Ive ridden three different bikes on the lizard over the years (2 GW's and a 650 all Darksided) and even pulling a trailer. The crotch rockets cut every corner regardless if there is on coming traffic or not... I guess they feel it's their road and therefore have the right away.

In Sweden they literally teach you to drive in that way when you take your license (in a less aggressive manner obviously), hold on the outside of the corner to get maximum visibility and IF there is no oncoming traffic you take the corner in as straight a line as possible, even crossing the line. I don't like to drive like that so I had to learn it to pass the course and then unlearn it after I got my license. I'm way more bothered by you chasing up to his tail every corner and then breaking hard like you are unable to judge speed.

I had several advanced riding courses when I lived in the UK. The teachers were all motorcycle policemen and they REALLY knew a thing or two about two wheels. One of them said that a lot we had been taught to comply with Highway Code riding techniques had to be unlearnt. They taught us defensive riding, straight lining a roundabout (when it was safe) and a lot more that would otherwise have seen us fail on our 'normal' riding tests. Much of what we were taught is something I still use now that I live in the USA.

I’m surprised that everyone in the comments section misconstrued the video? The issue was with the lack of skill the Goldwing rider had when navigating the twisties; his timing was WAY off when he’d enter the turns, and he struggled to change his path once he was already leaned in one direction throughout a curve, leading him to cross the double yellow MANY times. Some of the people in this comment section need to read the description of this vid, the subject of this video wasn’t that the goldwing rider was slow (and I believe the op followed closely to watch such a out of pocket scene). I’m convinced the people commenting either never rode a motorcycle, or don’t practice safe riding, because if they did they would know how dangerous it is to be within a blind turn at speed ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD.

He’s riding really well. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was police or ex police. He is maximising his visibility, minimising his lean angles so that he has maximum contact for braking, and he is decisive.

I see many of you are confused by the title “Goldwing idiot”. The title is in reference to the guy with the camera not understanding the capabilities of a Goldwing or the skill of the rider or how to look through a corner to see if crossing the yellow is a safe option for a better line in a corner. The title had nothing to do with the person on the actual Goldwing. It was referencing the idiot crowding him.

You guys have know idea. He’s clearly riding well within his skill level. Watch again. He only takes the other lane when it’s safe to do so. I’m betting he’s a much better rider that all of you. Seriously, you guys need to stay in your lane and stop trolling on KZfaq. I know a couple of HD Roadglide Riders that would pass even this guy. And they are some of the best and safest riders I know.

Wrong. His set ups for corners were ass backwards and if you can't stay in your lane you are a danger.

Terrible rider, he's taking the wrong line for every corner. Never, ever, cross the centerline on a marked public road, bad habit to get into, because when someone is coming your way you have to bail unexpectedly and the setup for the next turn is even worse. All those roads are now getting serrated centerline grooves becasue of dumbasses like this.

anyone who uses the other lane is not sane and certainly not within hios skill level. This guy is seriously over his level. Btw. the obne filming is better, but also pretty on the edge...
